So vampires need Mobility 1, Death2, Combat1-4, for 37XP to compare to Mages that get those promotions at the turn they upgrade. And Balseraphs get puppets and can use spell extension 1...so at 10XP (level 4) a basic mage is running SE1, Mo1, C3, D2, A2 and can get off 2 spells a turn, and the spectres have a reach 8 tiles over flat land.
Don't vampires need Raiders to get that sort of reach?

Shouldn't that military picture be in a spoiler for FFH2 PBEMV?
Yeah Bhalseraphs beat out both Vamps and Amurites in summoning.
Amurites just fall flat in magic unfortunatly, They need a rebalance. (Me i'd open all their end tier units to mage level spells. Not just the longbows with fire line, have them also have Horse Archers with air, Rangers with nature, Champions with law, Chariots with shadow.)

Vampires are much easier to mass produce than mages are and are also good fighters in themselves, so a dedicated summoning mage SHOULD be better at summoning than a vampire. 10xp and 3 dedicated mana nodes is quite significant.
The Summoner+Puppets combination is probably just broken though, it produces way too many units. Says a lot that the orcs in PBEM V have 4 sons of the inferno and still needed an alliance to break an adept/puppet/skeleton defence.

At least now I know why you've been so quiet in PBEM17. Its a good plan, I'll enjoy watching it unfold.

Well, so far we've seen Flauros played well and finish impressively. In her game, Keelyn got extremely unlucky; let's see if we can't give a more fair comparison.
Apologies for slow turn update.
Firstly:
Orthus suicided to Nicolae on the interturn. Lucky him. I suppose the RNG couldn't give us everything....
Although, talking of Nicolae, he still hasn't got two cities yet. We, however, have five. By the time he has Blitz pyre zombies, it'll be FAR too late even if he was going to break his NAP.
New city of Mike Rotch. This city won't be amazing long term but is useful and quick to set-up. It'll always be a positive on our economy so i think it was the best bet considering there shouldn't be any need for an aggressive land grab (every half decent site on the map is already ceded to us diplomatically )
Our second new city this turn:
This city has upset Acalostas a bit. It shouldn't be anything i can't smooth out diplomatically. He thought this site was the one that i had been ceded in the terms of the NAP. I have sent him the conversations and emails with Mackoti stating that the Mirror of Heaven site was the one given to us. He thinks that should be re-negotiated as we got this site and he has zero mana resources. I disagree and won't be backing down. This site is 7 tiles from our capital, 12 tiles from his. It's clearly closer to us than him.
We will likely still have to claim the Mirror site fairly soonish to stop any tempation. For now, i've moved the Elephant over to this city. If he wants to play silly buggers, then he can do so with Nessie.

It's not exatly like we are going to have trouble settling that mirror site. With City 2 building a settler for the fifth mana res, you could probably use city 3 for a settler after it builds a worker for the MoH site. Also, what are we fearing? A few adventurer bronze axes at worst, plus bronze warriors? Against the lizards, freaks, our own bronze warriors and that WE plus the griffons?

Uneventful turn, until i pressed enter. Whereby...
Shame that we didn't already have the capture promotion for *another* griffon (1 xp away! ) but, at least it gave us that xp. Let's promote up and see if we can't find that tiger!

No big report this turn because next turn will be a huge one. Anita finished it's worker and is stuck at size 4/4 with no production so put onto a settler for now considering the two other workers finished at end of turn.
