Generally the major thresholds for saved event gold you want to meet are 50 for the free prophet, and 100 for a free engineer or settler.

Agreed and as per Krill's previous comment, i've decided to leave us on 0% tech for one more turn to build up some more gold. Academy due in 5turns so it makes sense to run gold via binary for now anyhow.

First incense tile comes online next turn for a beautiful 2h, 7c tile. Second incense will be hooked up in 3 turns.
Trying to decide what to do with our unpromoted griffon. I figure we should continue milking our scouting/map knowledge and try to pop as many dungeons/whipwrecks as possible. I promised not to touch the one over by Hippus so that will have to remain. Although, if we could surround it, we would be free to go explore.
I moved him into the inland sea to test a theory i had and the following happened end of turn:
This is exactly what i suspected. That Pirate will actively chase after anything that enters the waters. I hope that by moving the griffon out of the water, he will go back to being stationary. This will allow me to circle back round, via land, and re-pop that shipwreck from whence he originally came.
There is also a second shipwreck south of the arm bridge between us and Sheaim which i think we should check out:
End of turn completed two freaks and, luckily (?), they are both rubbish meaning we can happily get a couple of freak cages up.
One is diseased and one is cold resistant. Cages in Hugh Jass and Mike Rotch i think.

Freaks were settled in Hugh Jass and Harry Crack (got the names mixed up before). Mining has now come in and:
Rawkking has told me he's a bit wary of ceding that site now because it's his only source of copper. I'm thinking that we agree to settle it but permanently gift him the copper. I can try to wangle it diplomatically by saying i'll settle up in the grigori's face and see if i can't nick theirs. Alternatively, i could tell the truth and still offer it. Thoughts?

Now I really want that city, and to hell with what he wants. What's he going to do to us, without copper?

Yeah, plus like, aren't you planning on killing him as soon as your NAP ends? If you take the copper he can't do anything about it unless he's going to break his word, and then once he is able to do something about it you can just destroy him. In a war which will be easier because he doesn't have copper. Also there's another mana node there which I assume you want.

That mana node is necessary for that plan I put together to work.
