This might be stepping a little outside my field as a dedicated "vet" lurker, but I would not unduly trouble myself with making allies. Although I have obviously no actual evidence for it, I think it's very likely that you're going to get dogpilled as soon as your NAPs end and your rivals have contact with each other and actual armies. I seriously doubt that anyone is going to want to leave Keelyn alive after witnessing the broken crap I've demonstrated that she can pull off just with level 1 spells in my PBEM V thread. If anyone knows about what she can do with Gibbon, and they should, then you're going to put everyone on DEFCON Super High Alert as soon as you build him for the first time. Although I guess given some of the personalities involved in this game, who knows if the others ever get their shit together.
EDIT: Basically what Krill said.

Considering succinctness is not my strength, I'm wondering why it took Bob so much longer than my self to post.
Oh, yes, he is a PoliSci postgrad.

Yeah, but not immediately. Our NAPs are intentionally staggered. Also, i'd bet pennies to pounds that Elohim would not take part in a dogpile. Better, i think they'd alert us to it.
There is significant diplo being done in the background that i'm far too lazy to post. I'm currently arranging a 2v1 of Hippus + Sheaim vs Elves. Hippus are very up for this idea. Sheaim have been quiet and may not be interested, but they are right up in the Elves face and if Rawkking moves on, they'd be stupid not to.
Oh and off-topic, but it's relevant. Hippus have promised a non-compete for Esus and Gibbon. Since they're financial and significantly higher than third place on GNP, that buys us some time.

Basically, i think the game would win itself from here. My new way to satiate my competitiveness is to avoid the dogpile diplomatically.
By rights, it should happen. The other players would be stupid not to dogpile us. However, im fairly confident they won't. I managed to avoid it in PBEM12 and it's not happening here.

Hahahah what. You're "arranging" a war which you're not even going to be a part of, like some sort of juggalo fight promoter, and the Hippus (whose land you've bullied from them & whose resources you are at this very moment conspiring to steal) are eager for it? Christ. Maybe you should make the game AW once you build Gibbon for the second time, so that you can really satiate your competitive drive, since it doesn't sound like your opponents are ever going to do it for you on their own

Well, of course!
They don't have contact and can't get it without going through either mine or Elven culture. As a result, i'm acting as a go between and altering the wording slightly to imply that they're both more interested to the other party. It's gonna work, i have a good feeling about this one.

Oh, i should also mention that it was me that originally had the idea, but neither party knows that. Fun fun.
