[SPOILER] PBEM21, "Zero to Hero" (Kuro, Pericles' Ottomania)

Turn in, Poly in next turn exactly...

Heading towards Noble more, yeah, yeah.

As you can see here, Ari revealed some pigs this turn, but they're not useable by any gold city site. Depending on if it'll affect pig placement, the grassland hill looks pretty damn attractive, with like 9 riverside grassland tiles.

As you can see, we are #1 in GNP(Ellimoogle just finished Writing and have not chosen a tech) and #2 in food, the most important categories. Once Erodan grows, it can begin on whipping another Settler. Same for Feferi soon enough.

EOT, Feferi will finish it's Granary(Put some turns into a Library while waiting to grow enough for the Settler whip) and Eridan will finish it's Work Boat(And start on another, giving the Ivory back to Feferi while it works the improved Clams to whip out it's WB). Equius is going to get it's boat chopped out once the Worker finishes. Our Scout, Tony DiNozzo, will begin uncovering new land shortly.

We got Poly at the start of the turn...

Since we get Mono in 5T at straight even research, I'll do that instead of 100% Gold, which gives us the chance of going up at the end of it(Since we get +3 GPT), possibly making it a 4T tech.

USS Thunderchild finds nothing...what about Ari?

Well, you see, Ellimist brought up an interesting point: By his estimation, the numbers of the mainland, donut-shaped and all, is not right for the landcount. And...as we find out now...

And the secret is...the donut has water right there!

It's entirely possible, depending on how long that island is there, there is even an island inside of it.

Securing a coastal city there should be a fast priority. If I can colonize THAT before everyone else too...well, I'll have more than my fair share of land. But is it protectable? I'll need to make military ship techs a fair priority...which given the starting islands, is a given thing anyway.

Scouting is more important than ever now.

Tony will actually start revealing territory next turn...

Feferi takes back the Ivory, which means the Library will assurdly be done after this whipping is done. Eridan works the Clams and should be able to whip a Work Boat in 4T, when it grows.

Talking with Ellimist confirms Noble has 3 cities.

End turn, natch.

Calling it right now: Some kinda map gimmick on that center island - and I can't wait to see what it is lol

I know this is still awhile away from your capabilities at the moment, but I would recommend settling on that inner sea and getting a galley out sooner rather than later to see what's on that little island.

It could actually be as soon as City #6: I mostly need #6 to grab copper and...well, there is copper right where I imagine the sea might be. If there is a good city there, I can settle it for copper and do the FP site with a quick #7 from Eridan(Since after the second Work Boat, it'll be grow grow grow!)

Perhaps settle 1W of the worker to grab copper, pigs, and share corn with the gold city. I find it slightly interesting that you have two copper in your lands. BTW, how close is that proposed city site to James Bond?

The Gold city? I will check when I get the save or, if it does not move tonight, by checking the 1640 BC save.

I presume you meant Warrior and not Worker :P

...What if the center island has Stone and Marble? Neither I nor Ellimist has seen any yet...and I do not recall it being asked to be taken off the map specifically, either...

Turn in and Judaism is founded in a distant land. Oh well, we stopped Ellimoogle from getting it and delayed their Org Religion.

According to them, they are even going to Code of Laws, so they will not be getting Organized Religion for a while. This negates their production for a while. And got them to change a city location.

Despite the fact NobleLewwyn seems the obvious choice, I believe Jkioan founded it, due to score increases, which would be awesome(Hope you like Christianity, Noble...if you get that much!)

I sent a fishing E-Mail to them to see if they did found it.

As I await the news, the USS Thunderchild explores yonder, still not finding Noble...

Ari reveals little except nice grassland. The spot he is on still looks good. I think it's notable that, if we found there, not only is it an effective border against Jkioan, but we can probably chop out the Hanging Gardens there. Most likely aided by Aqueduct overflow.

Jkioan's E-Mail came in: Either Ioan is acting a little on his own or they did not found Judaism.

Exact E-Mail:

Jkioan Wrote:I don't think so but as you can see, we have communication issues in our team!

My guess would be ElliMoogle

I might have laughed a little on that last one given the circumstances. >:D

Anyway, back to the turn...

Tony scouts the hills and such around here and then the North and so on...

A brief note on my research: I can put 1 turn of pure gold into this and then get +8 GPT to 3-turn Archery, then go 100% gold on Mathematics, odds are after the Feferi Library goes up. This lets me better do Maths.

Why do I want Archery? Honestly, I don't feel secure on a water map with just Warriors, while planting a possibly contestable city, without being able to build Archers, with no NAPs!

Ellimoogle will certainly be a bit subconsciously mad at me for making them lose Judaism and Jkioan will be backed into a corner. So I think being able to whip Archers would be nice: I also will need it for HAs anyway.

Eridan needs 4T to whip and Feferi needs 4T to grow. I will whip Eridan when Feferi's Settler is whipped and going to be in the city, thus allowing me to transport them both at once.

In the meantime, since Ducky has nothing to do on the mainland really important, it's going to go help out Eq. Abby will handle building thing slower or, more likely, pre-chopping forests for Feferi's next whip cycle.

Eq completes his Work Boat next turn thanks to the chop. I think he will go for a Granary, as I want to grow, but with Archery around the corner I feel no need to build a Warrior for no reason, my Scouting looks good, I don't wanna run a Library there as it'll be a production pump for a while...yeah.

It can build a Barracks later.

Alternately...what about Metal Casting? Looking at it, Equius can chop it in 1T given the Workers are in place and Copper is hooked up...I can get it in 11T at max research, so more truly 13-14, it gives me Forges...hmmm...

But a bit risky. Ellimoogle has it. They want the Colossus. But they have already made their intention to delay it clear...and I still get Forges...

I believe I must deliberate this carefully. For now, as all my plans call for it, a turn of max gold.
