[SPOILER] PBEM21, "Zero to Hero" (Kuro, Pericles' Ottomania)

mackoti Wrote:why? Because working hils you get alot of production, and you get just your first setler worker latter and after that you using slavery get at same time or even later. And he gains the comerce too. So yeah abig city working just improved tiles beats slavery in long term for sure.

It beats it in the long term for one city. Will it beat me having it churn out more Settlers so far and being up cities because of it? smile Considering the land it seems like the capital has...I don't think so. Maybe if their version of Feferi was the capital.

perhaps they builded more workers first, how many did you said you have 3?Well i like usualy after second setler to have 2 workers for every city that i build and start asap to improve it, for me if a city is not profitable in 10 turns ai dont build it.
Reply

I believe Ellimoogle told me they have "four or five", which isn't significantly higher than my 3(And my mainland cities are pretty much all done in terms of improvements...)
Reply

So, turn in. Ari's scouting revealed not one new tile, Jkioan founded another new city to bring him to four and...uh...

NobleLewwyn has six cities now apparantly? Curse you, beating me in city counts by one turn!

Aradia Megido will be founded next turn, though. So that's nice.

Erodan grew, so on to a Settler it goes! High ho, high ho, it's off to work they go, dudududu dudududuuuu...

Right next to the lake seems like an okay city, but I think it's more towards Ellimoogle than myself, so the odds of me getting it are a bit doubtful. Fortunately, it is not a big deal!

Horses get a nice 2T Improvement on them, then a 1T road, which will connect both copper and horse to Equius(And, in turn, my islands via the sea and Sollux via the river). Then Ducky + Itchy will go off to help Aradia, which should be just in time for border expansions.

EOT, Maths is in. I'm going to keep maxing until I run out of gold, then see if it's worth going 100% gold or not depending on Currency's research speed.

So, turn in, Mathematics in as well.

Also Aradia Megido is founded!

Beautiful city, eh? Still love it. Aradia is awesome, too.

And then scouting...

That was all from last turn. Now playing this turn...

So now on to the current turn.

Jkioan has some very nice land. Fortunately, he's 2-3 cities behind: Good luck buddy! wink

Ellimoogle's on-land borders. Not much to say here. I'm going to wager and say this is Denebola.

Equius is whipped for his Settler next turn, while the horse has been roaded. When the Copper is mined, it too will be instantly connected, giving all my non-Aradia cities acess to all units.

At 60%, Currency is a 9T tech, but I can bump it to 70% for 1T to make it 8T. Saving gold in a binary way will make it 10T...but I have to factor in the academy, but I see that as shaving off 1T, therefor 60% completes Currency 1T after. Saving gold right after that for the next tech is probably a good idea.

Not much to report, but with Aradia founded, how about some informative screenies?

Ellimoogle's diplo screen. I'm up one city and probably soon to be two. Then I will slow down horizontal expansion a moment to grow and then expand again, since otherwise maintanence crush.

He, as you could see, is the score leader.

NobleLewwyn is the only one with a similar number of cities as me, the exact same actually. I will PROBABLY get ahead with Captor and break even at Karkat. Somehow I feel ahead, though.

The big loser, with just above half as many cities with me and underimproved, last by a margin of almost 60 points. If Jkioan doesn't shape up, he is fast on the track of irrelevance.

Despite running 60% science, I am apparantly first in GNP, despite religion free culture. Ellimoogle is not running 100% gold. That's kinda sad.

After making the Colossus a priority and probably Forges/Org Religion, Ellimoogle's production graph looks quite silly.

EOT, Sollux expands borders. Next turn, Itchy and Ducky will head towards Aradia.

King of games. (No other graphs said anything interesting)

Turn shoob-a-do-whop.

Equius is whipped, which will put 31 hammers overflow into a Worker, while Abby works on the Copper Mine and Tony goes to check out enemy lands...

Unfortunately, it was Pollux, not Denebola. -1 points to me for wrong guessing!

Confucianism was founded there just this turn, in fact.

Also this douchebag.

Abby and Itchy should arrive at the Corn in 5T, with a 3T expansion at Aradia for it to be able to be improved anyway.

EOT, Settler finishes: Equius' Worker will take 3T, so no whip nessecary. Eridan grows in 2T: Should I set it to whip a Settler or a Worker? I am thinking a Settler for Rose after Karkat and then Workers.
Reply

Turn in, Equius' Settler finishes. In addition, Ellimoogle gifted me their WB, as was their deal, which is now going to defog Ellimoogle routes. Equius' Settler arrives at the Captor spot in 3T, making it a 4T Settle.

Scouting as usual, though it shows little of note.

Not much to say, but the first image shows a Jkioan city due to borders 1 NE 1 E of it's location.

Erodan is whipped for a Settler and...uh...

That is pretty much everything. I think after the Scientist is born next turn, I'll show more of a big update.

I have absolutely no comment on the hut thing, except someone should of caught it sooner.

Mechanics question: Let's say I have a building that needs exactly 30 hammers to finish. Is a whip 1-pop or 2-pop?
