So, we have the turn. Cleared the password - Lewwyn, I believe your Mac doesn't like Civ passwords, does it?

Moved the units so that they uncover as many tiles as possible. The area N of the settler has great potential; but I still think the inland capital is better, simply because land tiles are better than water smile

So, I'm going to move the settler 2E as planned, unless someone objects loudly and quickly smile

Neither Sian/Ichabod nor NS7 settled on T0 btw

Was it an admin password? Or just our own password? Admin passowrds are the ones that cause trouble.

Just our own. So I can set it, can I?

OK, no loud objections were heard, settler moved and save sent on smile The password is NicLewY (sorry, I felt too lazy to invent something complicated)

By the way, if you want to suggest a naming scheme, I'm all ears. I can't think of one bang would be quite happy with the default tbh

Looks good. Should we stay on the bad music kick? I feel the joke can run old very quickly.

Let's talk about tech paths a bit more. Obviously agriculture first. But then what? We definitely want mining and BW to get our metal hooked up (people would probably want to gun for us if they could get away with it), but the question is can we slot Hunting and Animal Husbandry into it? Plus, getting the 1/2/5 furs hooked up will speed us towards later techs.

1) Hunting/AH/Mining/BW
2) AH/Mining/BW
3) Mining/BW

Remember, chopping is nerfed on quick speed, if we have a choice between chopping or improving a tile's yield then definitely improve if we can grow onto it.

Oh yeah, and there are 1051 land tiles. Another thing to note, barbarians are on.

Yeah. Don't know. I will post music whenever I feel like it; as PBEM19 shows, it never happens once the game starts smile

My gut feeling says BW first, then possibly AH. I could try to sandbox it and see which option is better, but I want to do it after we know the map better and have a semblance of a dotmap. If we don't have copper nearby, we definitely need something for barb defence - AH, or maybe Archery (?!)

BW before AH definitely.

No Archery. It only makes the barbs stronger. We can get archery if we run into opponents but I think we're fine to start, and we'll see em coming. Warriors are cheaper and will serve us well enough until we get copper unless we get like double choked, but I doubt that'll happen.

I don't think that chops are as nerfed as you are implying. Chops are huge even on quick. Chopping out another worker is better than improving a tile.

Hunting... if we see copper nearby I don' know if we should get hunting. Cheap warriors are really great for MP. Also hunting seems less necessary to me then grabbing a religion and getting ahead towards The Oracle. Huntings just one more tech in the way. I mean you could even hold off on AH. Go worker warrior worker settler to start.

Heh, worker-warrior-worker-settler was my opening build in most of the recent games, uncluding both other PBEMs smile

I agree we don't need Hunting until after the Oracle, and we'll need to decide about AH when we know more about the map
