Next turn: Scout SE-NE, Warrior SW

Nothing but a lot of jungles. Looks like we'll have to research IW relatively early

I'm tempted to move the Warrior SE before continuing SW, won't delay exploration around the gems much, but will provide more map info. Scout should probably move N on the hill, maybe he'll see something interesting. Or NE to uncover more tiles, it doesn't matter hill or no hill in jungles

NS7 discovered the 1st tech - Hunting? Fishing? Don't think they could get anything else so fast

We will get Agri next turn, are we set on Mining next?

mmnnhm, mining>BW for sure.

BTW I see about 5-6 cities we can plant before needing to get IW. So I'd say it's about normal priority. Unless we want to expand towards our neighbors first and backfill. That may require some jungle chopping...

All depends on whats revealed though.

More jungles and more resources (the tile SW of banana is sugar)

Fierce discovered a tech last turn - Fishing? Don't see how he could get Agri before us. He settled on T0, so Fishing makes sense for him, assuming similar starts

Probably not, because a T0 settle would put the fish out of range, assuming equal starts.

It's probably too late to change your mind, but I'd still argue for Hunting and AH simply because we have riverside plains forest furs, which is an incredible tile (1/2/5). Plains cows are a really strong tile as well (3/3/0). These actions to me feel stronger than chopping and mining. We already start with the wheel, which means we can build chariots the moment we hook up horse, just in case we feel frisky. As Lewwyn says, chariot rushes are incredibly powerful when you move twice as fast as everything else, especially early on when there are few roads.

I'm definitely against Hunting, and think AH can wait. I don't want to chariot rush, and jungles around us don't favour chariots. 3/3/0 is not strong enough for me to deviate from the Oracle path and spend 8-9 turns of research so early just to improve one tile

If we find a pasture resource next to gems, AH will immediately become much more important. But with the info we have now, Mining looks better to me

I'd like to second that. Hunting is going to be wasted turns since furs will not be useful for a while. We don't need the happy yet and we don't need the extra gold at the cost of the food. the 1/2/5 tiles is great once we have 3-4 pop, but we're going to be whipping that pop off anyway, so that tile won't get worked.

AH would be nice to get, but we if can get away with not getting it immediately that puts us much further ahead towards getting Oracle. That should be our primary focus. I mean look at the amount of ocean and lake tiles we see so far. The cow can be put off as well if we get the rice up and work a FP and we're building workers and settlers so we won't be growing and it won't matter that we don't have the cow up. As for chariots, I love em, but yeah the area is not conducive to chariots moving about quickly and we don't need chariots that quickly. We need to see where copper is first as well.
