Ouch. GES/luddite had the least land I guess? yuris definitely got more cities razed I think.

GES/Luddite gave two cities over to Yuris earlier. I think that's the main difference. Yuris also settled more densely - three more cities on their home blob.

Ah yeah, I forgot about that.

Say, other strategic thought... I'm inclined to try to keep the other island city when we take it. I feel like we've mostly destroyed everyone else's transport fleet, after all.

Yeah, I don't see any reason not to.

It's late, so I'm afraid you're not going to get a full report tonight. I have pictures for the morning though.

Teaser:
- Deleted the Marine that burned the city you already heard about being destroyed.
- Burned the Taoist holy city to the ground. (What do those pacifists think they're doing in this game, anyway?)
- Captured an island city which needs a name.
- Turned Culture up to 10% to keep most of our cities from starving. (I have charts! They need image editing work so they'll actually be readable...)
- Chickened out against Commodore, but we should be able to take a huge pile of his cities in the next couple turns.

Yeah, no need to wait for bombers to attack commodore's cities. We could easily have taken Zingara (his big gp farm with uranium) or Bossonian Mark (his moai city) and only expected to lose 2-3 marines (that's including the one we have to delete at the end - only 1-2 are likely to die). Both cities only had about 4 real defenders, and we get approximately even odds on them with marines after reducing the defenses with battleships. The main constraint our attack forces have is how many marines we're able to attack with each turn. (Each one can only go once.) The secondary constraint is how many cities we can bombard with battleships each turn while not exposing ourselves to enemy battleships too badly.

Edit: In fact it's quite doable to both raze the moai city AND capture Cimmera in southern France with only 2 casualties. Our army is kickass.

No rest for the wicked! We got a new turn this morning... I poked around although I didn't do anything significant and I'll have to start the turn over anyway.

I was surprised by a map-for-map trade by Yuris. Any idea what that's about?

IIRC, the plan for the Apostolic Palace was to have everyone declare on Commodore.

We lost a Battleship and a Galleon. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out where that Galleon was for the life of me. Maybe it was the empty one which razed Karl Strauss? Yeah, probably that one. On the bright side, one of our battleships took one with it. We also lost the tank, because I didn't delete it. That was predictable but unfortunate.

Commodore is really starting to use Airships. I think I'm going to start trying to have fighter intercept coverage in our major areas of operation.

Played it. Maybe we can get in two today.

I was worried by commodore's message that he'd gotten a great general but actually he just attacked those two ships and the tank and threw his 5 cavalry at Nurn as far as I can tell. Uh, that's fine. Killed all the cavs on the counterattack and then our borders expanded so Nurn is basically safe.

Unfortunately he'd reinforced Bossonian Mark so if I went for that we'd only take one city this turn. I decided to take two cities of his 3 in france, instead. Third should fall next turn. I also dispatched another fleet of 3 full transports with support. Maybe we can burn down Mark or Zingara next turn. I really want to eliminate those cities since they're probably making something every two turns, and are also a haven for his battleships to harass us from. Very annoying.

I'll throw up some pics and more details in a bit. (Maybe after the previous turn's? wink)

Yeah, I'll get those up soon...

Also, wow, that turn took under two hours to play!
