Scouts get better rolls on huts, so it'd be better if you turned round and picked them up. And yes, I like that hill very much.
Ok, Barrow is unpopped, scout's on his way toward the huts, turn's in your inbox.

My borders expanded at EoT popping one of the huts.
Guess what we got.
I believe this makes us somewhat even with the lucky Masonry poppers
Now let's go steamroll them

Excellent! Calendar was 100% on our tech list, so that's straight-up turns saved!
I suppose we ought to think about where to go after Mining. My personal inclination is that it depends on copper's locations - if it's in our BFC, Bronze Working right away, if not, something more like heading to horseback riding or Kilmorph.

We both need roads and more production first, so Exploration, AC and Mysticism. After that we should probably split efforts, I go after moneyspinners ( Festivals, RoK, Education ) and you should go after horses ( Trade beeline via HBR ). We don't need bronze connected before we find them or barbs start showing en-masse, so BW can wait a bit.

I'm 95% sure the answer is yes, I can check tonight. Which is why I disagree with this:

If we split efforts, that means we lose the benefit of having one of the two techs for the turns in between - basically we'd get two techs on T30 instead of one on T20 and one on T30, for the same two techs. I agree that the main debate is between horses and econ, but whatever we do, we should do it full bore, both together. Even if that means alternating between a tech from your list and a tech from mine.
I think you're probably right about Exploration, AC, Mysticism. We dearly want to be able to hook up all of these wonderful mining/calendar resources Plako gave us, to run large God King capitals. Right now, I think RoK should be next on that list, and then we can start alternating econ and military techs - maybe up to horseback riding, then festivals and education, then up to Trade. With a stop somewhere along the way to enable bronze warriors, the most hammer-efficient unit in the game. The main question on bronze in my book is whether we're on offense or defense - bronze warriors are no good for attacking, while horsemen are pretty decent - and are even better for pillaging/choking. But it takes a long time before you get something better than a bronze warrior for city defense.

If we don't go horses, you're not fielding early horsemen and not putting pressure on the opposition. If we don't chase gold it takes that much longer to make Vaults work for me as opposed to working against. And there is one more reason - we don't need to tech fast, we don't have spare hammers ( they need to go for workers/settlers/escorts ) to utilize any fast tech breakthrough anyway. It doesn't matter that we can tech Festivals twice as fast together, I still probably can't spare turns for Market this early on. That's why splitting research after Mysticism shouldn't matter. Once we have 3 or 4 cities and can actually spare effort for infrastructure we can go focused again, until then, we can and possibly should tech wide.

What you're suggesting is the same as if you, in a single player game, switched your research back and forth between two techs every other turn. The question is simply why would you EVER do that?
