Hey, directly chopping that forest by the capital should let us complete the settler a turn earlier. You're probably already doing that, but just in case you were planning to combo chop it.
Yes, CoL next, due in 3 turns. Swap to Aristocracy won't happen before 5th city is settled, and even then is not a given. Settler for the gold/marble site was due to finish at EoT so I hired a priest and swapped over to Pacifism. Pagan temple next in build queue to raise the happy cap and open another priest slot. I managed a 1t border pop in DR, which now has a settler queued, due in 9t and heading somewhere north, probably for the wheat/horse/floodplain spot. DoF will pop borders at EoT, take another 2 turns to finish elder council and then start working on warriors to fill the garrisons again. My demogs still suck, but not by as much as they used to, what they need now to get better is more cities and population.
I definitely don't think we should go into Aristocracy until we've grown most of our cities to happy caps, because there are just too many plains on this map to really afford the food loss. I think it's something to go into temporarily a while later while we're pushing for expensive tech like Fanaticism.
Settler is out, heading for gold site, should reach that about t100 animals permitting. I managed to rejig the tiles to cut PaganTemple in MT to a 2t build and ElderCouncil in DoF to a 1t. Aristocracy still due in 3, prophet due in goddamn forever, unless we luck out with an event.
Also someone, I guess Ravus, got circumnavigation.
Settling party moves. Some barbs smashed. Someone ( mackoti?, *sigh* ) built the Great Library. Pagan temple at EoT, will sink one turn into something while growing to 9, then hire second priest and start on workers till undefined future, need at least 4 of them. DoF got a farm and can actually start growing into something decent now, joy.
We've got a barbarian kill team in the southeast. I think the capital should build at least one warrior before starting on workers - DoF is literally crawling in terms of warrior production because it's got an effective 50% penalty right now.
That also means there's a barbarian city down there that we should scout out and see if it's on nice land sometime.
Had this amusing chat with Ravus couple of days ago
Finished the Tour de Bannor Border already?
Just about. Heading south now to try and find a link into my own lands. Still very jealous of how isolated you are. Sure you don't want to swap positions?
Because I'm convinced you'd love to bash people with 1-move demagogs on this cosy and small map :] And just out of curiosity, since you met everyone, I've been consistently second in GNP for at least half a dozen turns now.
Hey I didn't say my position was good. Just your own! You don't have to sell me on the power of movement on this map.

Who's going into triple figures?
Oh that's the vampires. My painting them as the 'black sheep' wasn't all hyperbole. Maybe half...
;] fun and games, sigh I'd kill for some land to run aristofarms on. But no such luck.
I did mention he has flood plains to the Hippus. I think I cried a little inside when I saw it. You do have some flood plains, but they are a little bit of a trek to the east.
Meh, even if I could settle them, I wouldn't be able to defend them properly. And floodplains on t100 =/= floodplains on t30.
The Amount of Barbs that will be spawning in that big empty space would not be good.
One hurdle at a time, and besides, since when do barbs bother you? :]
And yeah. You are doing fine from the look of it. I'm still limping for economy.
It's not the barbs it's the super animals. You've been fine cooped up. But everyone else has fed animals to insane levels. Combat V's everywhere.
Wow.
Yeah. Only half bad. The Elves aren't super at exploration with those monsters on the loose.
Sareln should be hawking like crazy.
Oh he is. But mainly because he is surrounded by other nations. I know he often gets rushed but the map makers must have been EVIL in this one.
I'm surprised the wrap goes only one way. It would make much more sense to wrap both ways with this layout.
Maybe. Or just placing myself or the Vamps further away. The elves are the centre of the world at this point and you are the far lost nation. You'll laugh once you get a proper map. And no that's not an offer for mine
Shaame :] I'll have to make do with alms from orcish cities :P When are you adopting RoK exactly?
Damn you and your implications. However correct they may be. *Cough*. Really do need that expansion power on a map this size. No point trying to deny it. It was going to be next turn that the map expansion started. I'm on 6 cities now and have the next two ready. Then two more after that. If I can't beat you vertically I'll beat you horizontally... Not the best dramatic line ever.
I'd just like to point out it's not me you have to beat right now Mack is top of the pile. Both horizontally and vertically :]
Lol. Yes he's the nice threat. The nice visible threat. The nice visible urgent threat, that everyone will be stuck dealing with while you are isolated
See, and you won't even be able to blame me for not dealing with him :] Cause what could I really send? Axes? They'd get there c.a. t160 :D
The map really is insanely large. And nope no one will be able to blame you. You get all the isolation and teching and create none of the threat due to the Vamps. I do have this image of the lone Axe force trying to make it to Mackoti now tho... send of 10 and only 3 get there due to barbs and super animals. So not worth it.
And when they get there... they are greeted by an army of Brujah ;]
No, no. Vampire lords! who have mind III and just say "wow thanks for the extra troops" before dominating them.
That works too
You know, as amusing as this tete-a-tete is, you aren't exactly convincing me you aren't going to be the big late game threat that everyone ignores until too late
Seriously, is there any way I could convince you otherwise?
Hell we just joked about how I'm going to be paying you money with runes soon and that's just bad. Well you might have been able to if the Hippus had just once hinted that they might attack you. Obviously you bribed or he threatened. But you feel far to comfortable teching. So no. No convincing here.
:] see? all I can do is to keep you guessing about my exit strategy
Pfff, the least you could do is drop hints! Come on, I'm the dumb orcs what threat could I be!
Much lesser one after I make sure you don't build Ragnarok :P
I was tempted. But working out, I'd need a 30 city empire and double troops in each city before things would even start to happen. If I was Isolated... You sure about that not swapping? And was THAT your hint? Disguised as a angle for my plans?
I'd swap with mackoti for his floodplains
Don't get me started. I allready moaned to Mr Yellow about how much he has. And the Gold. *grumble*.
And, yes, I guess you can treat this as a hint, I do not want the game ending early in fires of Armageddon :] Or end early altogether, time is good, Bannor like to take things slow :]
We're into "I want you to think I think you think this is your plan" territory, so probably best to stop the fun there.
Yeah

I should probably apologise for communication with NobleHelium, I assumed he'd read your sent email and he hadn't. So apparently instead of coming of amusingly blunt he found me hostile. Sorry and all that.
Happens, I'll post the chat in my thread later, so he'll get the apologies.
