My guess is he's done some FFA MP and has a vastly different perspective on what a PBEM is like. I always wonder if some people don't read a few games around here before playing one. If he was going to rush he probably could have taken a bite out of someone by now. Still, If I was luddicator, I'd be a lot less excited about pink dotting the guy with Way Too Much Military®.
As usual, Seven's making the best read on the map and if he can convince novice to go for the Astronomy play will probably win going away. And yuris seems to be playing the same game as PBEM19. I didn't follow 20, did he build Oracle there, too? I agree with luddite's assessment though, having made the same mistake myself in 14.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Luddite and Pindicator managed to seize two iron. Any bets on who is going to pull the short stick in the strategic resource department?

That's not the pertinent question. The pertinent question is whether luddite is mackoti's kryptonite. mackoti has every reason to keep playing a builder game and expand all over the islands with GLH in his pocket now but he's worried about aggressive settling from luddite. Who cares? Just outexpand him and deal with it later. Luddite himself has been playing a quite short sighted game - just asking in thread if its worth settling the islands or not because of maintenance.
The mackoti-luddite thing is bizarre though. mackoti wins PBEM9, 10, 18. He's playing a blinder in PBEM24. He's looking good in FFH8. So he could conceivably win every game he's played here except PB4. And now here when he knew from the start to be focused on NS7 about half the comments in his thread relate to luddite.
Everyone else is playing a pretty disappointing game from what we can tell. So I'm pretty desperately hoping for a big mackoti-NS7 showdown.

And they did it blind! i wish i had that kind of fortune! I like how this map has sea targets and mainland targets, and these teams are being forced to choose one or th other.

20 uses the RB mod and yuris built Collosus and GLH there. And fwiw the maps for this game and PBEM20 are effectively the same from a metagame perspective.

...so Luddite, seeing the grapes are unreachable, declares them sour. Seriously, man, are you just trying to justify the metagame tomfoolery you're inflicting here? NS7 are in a commanding, terrifying, PBEM 13-level lead here, and the only one who can trade blows even semi-equally is Mackoti. Who you are trying to aggressively settle and cripple.

So... this seems like it's not going to end well for Sian...

Could someone tell me who is located to the south of SevenNoSpace (on their landmass)? I was thinking about iron placement and I can't make out the border colors.

In looking at the map thread, it looks like Mackoti
