Well, the way HoN does it is you need a % vote (almost unanimous) from a single team, but after a certain timer either team can unpause. Tends to work fairly well overall.

If it's highly regulated I guess it could work, I just feel like there is so many other issues I'd rather they spend their developers time on.

A pause+spectator mode is needed if Riot really wanted to make LoL an "E-Sport" IMO.

Pause should only be in tournament games, maybe custom games.
But definately not in games with randoms, would be abused too much.

For Tournament mode, definitely, but don't see why it's important for playing by "the masses".

It's interesting to see how the metagame is evolving. The champions being heavily favored nowadays are quite different from the top picks two months ago, beyond what I would have expected from patch changes.

The metagame is exactly the same: AD+Support bottom. AP Mid. AP or Bruiser top. Jungler capable of invasion and high gank potential.

Then again against certain picks some teams try cute stuff. Caitlyn mid against Morgana is a better bet than a standard caster pick. Or those highly sustainable solo bottom lanes to force dragon control (?).
Also, Nyjacky is on Veigar.
Also, dat Pobelter.
