Theo for AP is always tempting on an archi map. That wonder is almost a must-have if you want to hand-build anything this game...

The one nice thing about Feud is that it's almost purely a defensive tech. No one will react by worrying about if they're going to get hit, while it makes us impenetrable for a long time.

What about MC --> Feud? Forges are still rather nice, and getting them up sooner has obvious benefits. Vassalage is a net positive economically, although Calendar wouldn't be such a bad thing. And I'd rather build happy-less forges than Hammams.

Yeah I thought about Theology, but I think that Pindicator is going to go for it and I was probably going to let him have that (and UoS and SM) for goodwill.

I don't think Vassalage is a net positive, purely economically speaking. It's currently 5 gpt from expenses (times inflation). It does give 9 free units but we're currently not paying for any.

And too late on your Hammam-hating - I've already built 4 lol

The other benefit to Metal Casting is getting a few triremes out. And Calendar also gives the MoM, though 301 hammers w/o marble is.... a lot.

Some diplo - apparently there are musings of a dogpile against me. Yuri and I agreed to a NAP up to and through T98 (it's T71 right now) and I sent this to Sian

Quote:Hi Sian,

How's it going? We haven't talked in awhile, so I thought that I would drop you a note and see how things are going. With the very fast pace of the turns in this game (which is a good thing!), it seems like even going a few days without communication can mean 10 or so turns!

In any case, I note that our NAP is scheduled to run out here within a few turns (T80 I believe?), so I thought I'd see what your thoughts were on that. I saw that I lost your graphs this turn as you were up to 48EP on me, so I didn't know if that was just an oversight (I know that I've done that before) or if it was something intentional. I'd be happy to level off EPs on each other so we can both see each others' graphs, but I realize you probably have some Sacrificial Altars coming on soon so it may be that you will continue to spend EPs on me in which case I understand - just let me know.

I had heard some whispers of a potential dogpile against me from a few sources, so I don't know if those are just random musings or if it's something that I should be worried about. I'd assume that as my direct neighbors, you and Pindicator had to have been at least approached about it, am I right?

Anyways, let me know your thoughts on whether or not you'd like to extend the NAP or not. I'd also be interested in firming up our previous agreement to not settle the first ring islands of each other. I think I've settled my first ring islands to my north (your west), and the other ones that are fairly near you that I'd like to talk about are a first ring Silks / Crab to the SW of your city of BC and a first and a half ring island directly south of BC.

In game news, I discovered Metal Casting this turn and am heading for Feudalism.

I expect Sian is the instigator of this dogpile talk. I think he probably has had conversations with Pindicator, who, as a good ally I HOPE didn't egg him on.

My guess is that he will NOT renew the NAP, which would be okay with me, as long as he's the only one I have to worry about.

Okay a bit of in-game exploration and piccies! (okay, one piccie)

Flying Camera, zoomed out and rotated 90 degrees (or is that 270?). What I think of as is my north is to the left of this picture (though I guess with toroidal wrap directions are all relative)

Yellow circle is the spot of a settler that will settle next turn. Red circle is where the settler that is on the nearby galley is going (settling in 2t I believe)

Yellow rectangle is the goodiest of the goody islands I've seen (corn / copper / gems), and brown are some of the "other" goody islands. All of those are fairly far from my current borders but I definitely want to expand in their directions so I can project some force that way.

I've also tried to bold the borders of Pindicator and Sian my neighbors.

Well it's Turn 75, 1 AD. Seems like most folk do that whole "picture dump" update thing. And maybe I'll do that.

But first!

A logistics puzzle!

What's the fastest way to get the settler aboard the yellow-square galley (which has already moved this turn) onto the blue circle (to settle a nice pigs city). Red Square galley is in play and has NOT moved this turn. Bonus points the earlier you can get a missionary (currently aboard red square) into So Old to spread Judaism

Has the settler moved? Has the worker on the horse moved?
