Astronaut without sin confounds press, invites trio to control civilization

This turn we whipped a lot of stuff, and then adopted Pacifism and Caste System.

Our lack of units on South Island was making me uneasy, and Oberon had more population than it needed for specialists. So I whipped a maceman, even making the city unhappy for a turn. Next turn it becomes hindu and works 6 or 7 merchants.

We also founded a city in East Atlantis:

What's more, we've found a green island, mysteriously.

City builds before ending turn, and demographics after ending turn:

And here's the military situation:

Tech situation.

Luddicator and YNL have researched HBR. Sian has Construction. I really hope they're just worried about being invaded. smile Mackoti does not have Feudalism.

Noone's got Aesthetics, and we've got Great Library due eot91 in Io.

I have to say, I'm slightly nervous of this Pacifism/Caste stint. Organized Religion and Slavery is just so damn expensive in comparison, though. I'll feel much better once we're in Nationhood, in about 6 turns.

Do you think we can get nationalism in 5t?

How about exploring Greenland with the settler? Barbs don't spawn on small islands like that as long as there's not a city there to build them.

I like all those Greek units being made smile

I hope so, with some gold saved, an observatory finishing in Titan, and more specialists being worked next turn. Current breakeven ETA is 6.5t.

I think you've confused the names of Iceland and Greenland. wink

Mackoti finished a caravel in each of the four cities we had visibility on, and upgraded his trireme. I reconsolidated, but just realized I forgot to pillage the fish at Argos. banghead Maybe he'll think we want to be friends.

Found a double food spot SE of Greenland, so two viable city sites there.

Second settler can be there in 8 turns. Queued workboats in Europa. Can get a worker from south island and one from our ice city.

Your demos are still good, but no longer great... I understand why gnp took a dive, but what is suppressing food?

Regarding gnp, is "vassal states" enabled for this game? if so, what are your colony costs so far?

Vassal states are not enabled, as per default RB settings. The vassalization mechanism is broken.

Our food is suppressed due to a few whips, but mainly because we're emphasizing specialists at the moment.

Turn 88 played. We have two galleons and a caravel on Argos's fish. They can be attacked by three caravels, maybe four if Mackoti sent one from a city west of Argos.

We can settle Greenland next turn.

We'll have Nationalism at the end of t90, in time to adopt Nationhood at the earliest opportunity.

Mackoti's golden age has ended.
