Astronaut without sin confounds press, invites trio to control civilization

I was thinking Taj in Gany (and borrow copper). Unless we think we'll be in Bureau some of the time (like after 5t?), then maybe Titan makes sense.

I was thinking Titan should grow one more pop by eot94 to reach the merchant trade mission breakpoint so no settler just yet.

I don't think we should attack Yuri. Mackoti's a real competitor and he'd get ahead of us if we did, probably. And/or mount a damaging attack. I think we should defend and tech at this point (and harass mackoti at sea).

Let's stay at war with mackoti a bit more and see if we can do anything. We have no need to be at peace right now, certainly.

Rep/Nat/Caste/Pac: yes. We still need to finish all those GPs. And drafting is good.

All right, back from my trip, and played t90 with a lot of guidance from novice.

Hey look, the east atlantis land that's as far away from our capital as possible is actually pretty good! smile

Demos. Mackoti's still gathering gold, as are Yuri and Luddicator. Sian's got machinery now, not sure if that's new. With that plus his recent grab of Construction, my guess is Engineering is next. Makes sense given the Cataphracts destined to appear next door.

Someone got a great engineer. Mackoti's capital again? I wonder what that will be used for. Current engineer bulb priorities for Mack are Feudalism, Construction, Engineering, Guilds. I hope he shows up with Feudalism next turn so we don't have to wonder and worry. Mackoti looks to have a breakeven tech rate comparable to ours, 200-250, and currently has almost 600b worth of gold stored as well as an unknown amount in an unknown tech.

I did not act with our navy this turn (except to scout for opportunities and then return), giving the galleon a turn to heal back up.

I offered Dye to Yuri for Spices.

We finished teching Nationalism EOT. Woot! We'll have the Taj in nine turns, and begin drafting immediately.

I understand breakeven beakers is an estimate based on rolling aerage gnp less culture and such. And stored gold is visible after ccurrency... but how do you know how many beakers he has stored?

He hasn't stored any beakers. He's stored gold that's worth roughly 600 beakers, by Seven's estimate.

Yes, in fact 600b worth of gold is a bit of an overestimate. He has 455 gold stored and probably libraries for most but not all of his commerce/beakers.

His GPT right now is 162, which I believe to be 0% slider. That translates to 200 BPT at breakeven plus whatever he's getting from scientists. It seems basically like he's been running 0% for the last three turns so I put him at 600b plus whatever he had invested in tech before that, which I don't know.

These numbers pass the common sense test. We'd expect him to have a higher BPT than us except that a huge number of our citizens are working as 6c specialists. And we are making ~250bpt net.
