New patch preview video is up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUgIZCij-dw
Compared to the upcoming patch, the last one really was small potatoes. "Total jungle overhaul" is coming with faster respawn times, lowered camp difficulty, different buffs, and buffs added to all camps. Other big changes: - health pot nerf - lower minion damage to champs - nerf to Red buff for melee champs - Sivir rework: W is now an active on-hit, passive is now movement speed increase when attacking enemy champ The stated goal is to have more aggressive laning phases. Suppose we'll see how it plays out.
Interesting, I like Riot's ideas behind these changes.
-Jungling is too complicated right now. For a decent jungle route, you need to be level 30, have all the correct runes & masteries and get a leash from your team. Not a problem for gold level RB members, but certainly for new players, who are introduced to effective jungling way too late in the levelling phase IMHO. -The health pot nerf was probably needed as well, not only does it reward engagements before level 4/5, it might also make Doran's items for single lanes a more popular choice again.
Don't underestimate the value of increased attack range. Sivir can play safer now and has two-three disengages with spell-shield/flash/exhaust plus ult plus movement boost from attacking. It's not a blink, but it's not nothing.
I like the change to make her W an active ability. If it applies on-hit effects then it will be a sizeable buff imo.
Compare her to Ashe and Vayne, and I don't see why you'd want to pick her. Beforehand after you got Starks and a BT you could lay out a load of damage to the entire team, the problem was getting to that point. Now she basically has a fake AoE attack that applies on hit effects.
Is the rework a buff? I'd say that the increased range is a buff, but the rework of her abilities aren't. Gustaran Wrote:Interesting, I like Riot's ideas behind these changes. I guess we'll find out better over time, but how viable will low level jungling be? (considering how most low level players will just die 1v2 instead of playing safe). Also this makes me wonder how many champs can jungle at level 1-5 now. As for the HP pot nerf, I agree that early game pots were too strong (maybe having pots scale a bit so they aren't worthless having lategame would work). However the pot nerf hurts jungling funnily enough As for your point regarding Dorans, I was thinking some people might try 21 in utility since the new masteries just so they could get Dorans + pot, haven't really seen it much. I don't like the minions doing reduced damage to champions change, I felt that was an interesting part of laning early on. Lastly, since the jungle camps are weaker and respawn faster, will junglers XP as fast as sololanes? Or are they nerfing the xp?
"We are open to all opinions as long as they are the same as ours."

And if you fail to gank, because of fast respawns and less reward from camps, you become so far behind. ssmagus Wrote:Xp was nerfed hard, don't get to four from a full clear... Plus I thought they were supposed to get an XP boost when people were talking about the new mastery trees. Sorry, I haven't played in a few weeks due to business so I'm not sure on my info. As for general impressions, health pots still reign supreme imo, except perhaps Doran's Shield, for HP regen early game. It's still a serious amount of regen, and unless you have innate lifesteal you're not going to get enough back with the measily lifesteal on a single Doran's Blade. So, you'll have to rely on your support for healing, or bring pots. However, it will make people more aggressive since you can really whittle down a player since pots don't refill your HP to nearly full at low levels anymore. |
