In PBEM10, during our little war, I often sat on the turn for a day so I could play it calmly and carefully. They were too important to rush. Now, it seems that he's almost certainly dead, instead of "I can still salvage this one," which is a difference.

Agreed with this too - in war time sometimes the turns can take longer to play. But that's not the vibe I'm getting here

Another question for the lurkers (I.E. Cyneheard)
What should I tech next?
I'm kind of thinking that I want to head up the frou-frou path, nabbing Aesthetics / Drama / Literature
with the idea being to
a) grab the Music Artist
b) get the 2nd pre-req of Philosophy.
I could also bulb Philosophy if I get lucky with GP generation. I think that yuri is planning to do this - he just got a GS. Getting Pacifism would increase the power of a 5t swap into Caste System of course.
Yuri and Gaspadore just teched Machinery, and only Sian (on the way out) has Civil Service.
My other options are
a) Iron Working - I do have iron on the mainland but no current need for it
b) Calendar - again, while I do have a few calendar resources, I think all of my cities have sufficient happy to work all their good tiles
c) Theology - depending on agreements with Pindicator regarding the AP
d) Paper - again, possible UoS depending on Pindicator
e) Machinery. Would let me build maces but not a lot of benefit there since I have longbows and no real desire to go on the offense any time soon
f) Alphabet / Meditation - both required if I'm going to bulb Philo
I am currently parking 0% research on Meditation.

Founded my treasure island city. Added 15gpt in expenses ![frown frown](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif) . I have a worker who can either chop that forest, farm the corn, or mine the gems. I asked Krill for the proper micro and he berated me and told me I should be doing all three of them at once.
So I thought I'd crunch the numbers to see.
Farm corn first
T90: 0/14, 0/40
T91: 3/14, 4/40
T92: 6/14, 8/40
T93: 9/14, 12/40, corn farmed
T94: 1/15-> 1/14, 16/40, granary whipped
T95: 7/15, 8h overflow
T96: 13/15
T97: 11/16, size 3
Chop granary first
T90: 0/14, 0/40, move to forest
T91: 3/14, 4/40
T92: 6/14, 8/40
T93: 9/14, 12/40 chop comes in at EOT
T94: 12/14, 8h overflow
So farm corn first definitely seems better.

I'd only do this to you rego ![tongue tongue](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/RBOld/tongue.gif) I guessed it was for this game, and in this instance you have the extra problem of having to build a second galley to do it all at once: that obviously isn't ideal, and you'll get 1 worker transfered with the first galley and that ought to be enough.
I just think you suck because of the slow wb.

No math is necessary to figure out that farming the corn first is best. But the above is wrong.
t95 7/14, 10h overflow
t96 13/14, 12h
t97 12/16, 14h, gems mined
t98 10/17, 17h
...
Exact sequence is dependent on whether you have a workboat coming or not.

Ah right. There is a workboat coming but I'm not entirely sure when it gets there w/o looking at the save. But almost certainly by t95

Then there's culture - what's your plan for popping borders there?

Yeah my logistics this game have not been great. Actually come to think of it I believe there is a missionary on a galley heading this way.
Ideally it will arrive 5t before the worker is done mining the gems so he can then mine the copper right when borders pop and I can pretend I did it on purpose

The record, so I can be accurately mocked / lauded.
T90: City founded
T90: Worker arrived and started farming corn
T92: Workboat nets fish
T94: Missionary spreads Judaism (1 galley chain involved)
So I think the borders will pop in time for me to mine the copper after the worker farms the corn, mines the gems and roads the gems.
