Well, those new runes look interesting.
+2% life steal and +2% Spellvamp quints, 2050IP.
0.25g/10s yellows at 410IP,
1.0 ArPen and 0.57 MPen reds @820IP. Yummy, Akali just got a boost.
Those lifesteal quints are going to go down well in the jungle I think. 21% lifesteal at the start of the game...

Or 12% with a Doran's Blade, which could be very tasty for lvl 2 ganks with Red buff.

I really don't understand how DOTA 2 is planning on seriously competing with LoL, when your strategy is "let's remake our old game, but make it look pretty", the only people they actually have a chance of attracting is simply DOTA 1 players. DOTA isn't doing anything to differentiate themselves and LoL is.
Edit:
I actually did watch that Boxer vs Idra match live, it was pretty intense and cool. Everything I wish I felt when I watch basketball or football but sadly don't.
Edit 2: The other big thing that struck me reading that article was the democracy of e-sports- You can have the chance to play against people like ChaoX or who else. What would football fans give to be able to really play against their favorite player? With games like this it's possible if you're willing to work hard and learn the game.

I'd argue this is still totally true in other sports, you just have to play at a high level. e-Sports is still a bit of a joke. What are the odds Hotshot would be the best LoL player if 10% of all youth in the world played the game seriously? About the same as 1920s football players being able to compete against their modern NFL counterparts.
Yes I can't get an opportunity to try out versus Tom Brady no matter how good I might be. But that's a good decision - it's worth missing out on some crazy overlooked needle in a haystack since 27 year olds with no football experience past elementary school are just too costly to even consider.
Look at golf though, a sport with a much longer age and athleticism window to be played well. Don't you think if any of us started golfing seriously and got really good that we could play versus Mickleson and Woods? In a sport with relatively low cost to hosting events the meritocracy is still alive and well.
EDIT: LoL pros still have a pretty small cost in playing another marginal game in both dollars (opportunity cost) and physical terms. I guarantee you I could buy my way into the Brett Favre Wrangler Jeans scrimmage if I was willing to pay for it. That's just life though. U2 will play a Bar Mitzvah for some level of compensation
