[SPOILERS] - TT really should be better than this after all these games...

If you're married to the north, I'd go with Dave's hill suggestion. Silk has no value to you for the next 50-60 turns at least.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I also like Dave's suggestion. Gets fresh water without wasting a river tile, and has nice overlap with the capital. Also puts pigs in the first ring.

Never mind.

Looking at the shot again, out of boredom, I strongly favor the south site. I had forgotten those furs were there with how small the shot is and the resource bubbles off due to where you were centered. Dave's suggested site in the north wastes 3 tiles of coast that will be worthless.

I'd probably aim to get something north and defog a couple tiles east of the pigs - a city north on the coast that can lighthouse that lake in addition to getting the piggies will be nice, I'd probably settle that regardless of if there's anything else in the fog. Then afterwards I'd probably settle the tile the warrior is on - if there's another food option it can steal the pigs from the north city, if not it still grabs a bucketload of grassland. You can backfill the billion silks site later on after you have Calendar or better yet, the second coastal sheep city I might scrap if there isn't seafood down there and instead plant 1NE of the Sheep. Catchs a ton of forests that can be turned into a wonder of your choice down the road and then can use the Sheep to drive growth of some cottages. Even catches a pair of hills for some moderate to decent production.

Map is very green - when you have that much green its usually a good idea to consider production in as many cities as possible.

To sum, I'd settle:

#1 - Sheep/Furs
#2 - Something north of cap on the coast for pigs
#3 - Central Sheep
#4 - NW where warrior is for riverside grass.

Of course, once you find copper/horse this will all need to be amended, though I can't see why you wouldn't jump all over the quick to set-up site in the south that has the added bonus of easy commerce and a boost to the happy cap.

I see your point Gaspar and I now think that the sheep/furs site is better for this settler simply because with a single worker it will reduce the worker turns considerably to get it up and running.

The only thing that will change my mind is seeing where copper is next turn when BW finishes a turn before the settler.

If I find some I will likely settle a city there for the production, but if not then Sheep/Furs becomes even better as I can head to Hunting -> AH for resource-less Holkans as well as hooking up the furs.

I am sending the warrior along the coast now to see what lies E of the Pigs. Nothing new was found this turn but expect a screenie next turn when Copper (hopefully) becomes visible.

Turns are going pretty slow right now, seems to be stuck with TMIT a lot I think

Well here's the news, dunno if its good or bad really.

Copper is right next to Mutal, which means it will be for everyone. Also means that settler (ending next turn) is heading for the furs/sheep site while research heads forthwith to AH.

With turns going at one every two days, i apologise to my ded-lurkers if they are losing interest, I hoped this game would be flying by now.

Anyway, I have now settled my second city.

I decided to settle it off the hill in the end so it could work the mine I had built for a quick monument while I wait for hunting & AH to come in so I can improve & work the furs and sheep. It will also have a farm next turn which can be shared between the two cities depending on who needs to grow first.

I'm going to throw a few turns into stonehenge at the capital next while it grows to Size 3 and the copper is mined before going for a worker or maybe another quick settler to keep expanding fast.

Here is what my scouting warrior has found since my last update.

As you can see, the map looks certainly donut-like and the land north(ish) of the pigs shows that there is likely to be another significant landmass across the water.

Thoughts?

Also, the reason Mutal is only growing to Size 2 next turn is I revolted to slavery once the settler was in transit.
