Just opened the thread because I thought the title was witty.
I'll have a look at the player threads and see if I have anything intelligent to say.
And if I stepped on toes with this one, mea culpa.
Better put a pic in just to cover any spoilerage:
Players be warned. This'll be us if we're not entertained.

Disclaimer first:
I'm not the strongest player and am probably BSing a lot in places here.
That being said there isn't much up as of yet so hopefully I don't expose my lack of knowledge too much.
Thoughts (in order of I read the thread):
Lewwyn:
"Remember too that I have no idea who I'll be next to. I will most likely be fighting with those nearby, thought the diplo thread opens some possibilities for peaceful passage to a target."
How many players can spell RoP rape? This won't go through.
Parkin:
Lots of nice little analysis. Will probably be one of the most organised (well no shit Sherlock).
Catwalk:
Shaka of Aztecs. Decent combo, Agg works with the bent of the civ, and the Altars can be massive if you like whipping.
Nothing much yet
pindicator:
write stuff so I can plámás about it.
yuris:
ditto.
plako:
"In the end leader+trait isn't that big deal in this setup. Starting position is way more important when considering the potential for success. There will be huge differences there.2
He may be right on this. But I wouldn't count out the leader and civ either power combo may rule very quickly.
SL:
decent analysis of his civ. Nothing else.
SS & Mack:
"Yes, a fine leader.
SPI is great, IMP is pretty good. I miss being EXP but such is life.
Germany not only is a blank civ but they have bad starting techs, hunting/mining."
Correct on the leader, but IMO wrong on the reason why Germany is bad. The tech combo isn't great but mining is decent, giving you a straight shot at BW, not having a usable food tech though hurts.
But where Germany fails is that it's so geared to the late game. However Justy compensates with his traits. Imp is nice for rex and you can never sneeze at Spi.
Meiz:
"Gandhi is a decent leader and I'm actually thinking to concentrate on specialists in this game. Leveraging the Phi trait and becoming less vulnerable for pillaging seems like a good idea. I'm probably not going to abandon cottages completely though...
Khmer is also not too bad as long as I find ivory somewhere. Otherwise I'm quite screwed :|"
I think you're forgetting the Baray, it is a nice improvement, giving you half a specialist straight away on a decent (if situational building). It also means you should be heading towards one of the most useful wonders quickly (HG) to leverage your UB.
The ele requirement on your UU does hamper you sometimes, but not having a UU is not the end of the world. Spi/Phi is a nice combo with any civ. The specialist route is the right thing to do if there is any food.
ASM:
with yuis an pindicator.
Oh and plámás is an old Irish word meaning "talk rubbish about".

Baray sucks and best starting tech is Agri. Oh and Hunting is just shite now that everyone starts with a scout.

No iron, no legions. Copper will be a small consolation. Also, food poor.

Looks nice, first one with marble. There's an iron on the bottom of the screen, but no horses for UU.
