How to set up a PBEM tracker

That did the trick. Re-encoding the file offline and uploading it reverted it back to UTF-8. Had to re-encode it directly on the FTP. Thanks for your help.

Mist, how do you set up multiple turn players with your newest tracker? Do you just repeat the same turn_order multiple times?
I have to run.

Yup. First name for each turn slot is used for status page.

Is it at all possible to add something to the tracker to make it so that an email reminder is automatically sent to the person with the save if they have had it for a set amount of time, say 24 hours? I'm not sure if that's doable with the current method of tracking but it would be pretty awesome.

That would require substantial changes to the current script. The current script is invoked when someone visits the page. I imagine you would change it to something that would send out the email when someone visits the page and it's been more than 24 hours, but then you'd have to record the fact that you've sent out the reminder email, or else it would send out an email every time the page is loaded > 24 hours.

Just make another script that periodically checks the tracker page and sends any desired emails. cool

Okay that's true. That script could run once a day and then you could keep it stateless.

I did this again today... I also had to enable access for "less secure apps" on the google account:
https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps

Also don't use a ' in the account password, that trips up the php script.
I have to run.

Also FYI everybody, I've got FTP access to upload .tracker files to mistbinder.org which is how I can set up new trackers there even though Mist isn't active on RB anymore.
I have to run.

I actually don't have a problem with this.
