*shrug* This is why I'm extremely happy with the slavery nerf. I have a severe lack of food but I can still remain vaguely in contention even with a slow starting leader and fairly crappy civ.

It wants you to plant a junk city to build a boat to plant a junk city.

It's a fish. With the quality of my land I wouldn't consider it a junk city.

Oh, and BW is due not once Commodore hits enter, but the turn after that. Hopefully I have it in a reasonable position, but knowing this map it's like up in the snow.

Jammy bastards. Someone got a gold or gems in the capital. I won't bother hoping they got a desolate wasteland of expansion prospects: How would it be much worse than what am going to deal with?

Turn 24 sim

I'm currently experimenting with the sim now. I'm not sure if that third worker is that useful: I want one, but I don't think I need it that early, as the snowball that gets the third city up and running isn't actually in my best interests IMO. However, there are a lot of variables to work out still...for example, the first run through has the capital at size 7 on t55 and the third city settled the turn after; I'm pretty sure I can speed up all of that by a turn or two, especially because the second city is just growing with 1 dedicated worker. The second city should probably just one pop whip a worker at size 2.

Ran through the sim a few times, and actually I need to make a decision next turn. Not because of seeing if we have Copper anywhere, but because starting the worker 2 turns earlier at size 2 (with a half full food box) means that I don't have to slave it out, nor will I have to get a third worker. That slave FWIW, I really dislike as it only front loads the hammers, and growing back isn't easy, the "profit" is 6 hammers that aren't enough to overcome the fact that I'd spend more than 6 turns at size 3 so it's not actually profitable to slave here.

I'm not convinced that the city site 1SW of the corn is the best city site. I know it's the best long term for that area...but it's difficult to get the workers to that area and ultimately it won't be a good city site until the borders pop and it works the hill mine and the marble, neither of which are going to get improved any time soon. 1S of hte corn can steal the cow from the capital, which can easily use the flood plains instead. However, Pottery can't get researched until about T40 even on a beeline, so it's still not an amazing tile.

Lots of things to consider here. But I'm not making any decision until I know where copper...isn't.

It could be a trap.
