Abandoning cities in the face of overwhelming attackers is a pretty common tactic.
I have to run.

Yeah, it happens quite a lot. The attacker sometimes moves further into the culture and then gets smashed to pieces in a single turn. It comes down to numbers, if you have been preparing for the invasion for 20+ turns there is normally a lot of antiquated junk with siege units that wipes out the modern stack for the loss of a crappy front city. Not a bad trade if it works, and if it doesn't well, you've lost the game anyway, right?
Hell, PBEM13 is probably a really good example of why it's the right move (damn you Pegasus...)

Yeah, don't never tell anyone nothing.
I am slightly surprised that lurkers have already essentially confirmed to T3 that T1 does not know how culture victories work in team games, and that nobody here ever complained about this. Davy is hilarious, but "how much lurkers like you" should never determine whether players get special treatment / benefits.

Is that because of the sheer numbers of posts coming in? We've also clued in Shoot the Moon that this is going to be a tight race.
I wonder what Team 1 & Team 4 think about all these posts?

RB has moved towards more lurker participation over time. Sullla is still in the old school camp of not wanting lurkers to tell them things. He says it repeatedly and it would be quite thoughtless of us to go against his wishes. This is not malicious nor are we picking on him. He literally does not any contribution from global lurkers!

Sulla should probably read this post first after the game ends...

No they don't have any. More importantly, there isn't any possible water route for them to reach milkshake. Even with canals it's impossible.

Ah, I see. I'm no expert in Civ, so it's good to learn what kind of strategies are useful in these MP games.
