Depends on the unit strength of the defender. Not sure exactly how it works.

![]() t186 Moved 1NW, Lewwyn leaves a token garrison in Macau. t187 Lewwyn leaves 2 maces, a pike and a musket in Macau, which he renamed "Y U No Like Meh." We kill the units and raze the city at the expense of a knight, two unpromoted cannon, and a CR2 Cannon. Taking the city causes the horse tile to come back under our control, allowing us to move 2 cannon, 2 machine guns, and a 1 rifle up to 1 tile southeast of the main stack. The rifle and cannons will be able to hit city on t191. Furthermore, next turn we can move up another follow-up ministack of 5 rifles and 1 machine gun. The knights that made the first three attacks to kill the defenders were able to move with the main stack. The last one is with the support stack, but will still be able to hit Beijing on t190. So, while not the best exhange, I'm still happy overall with how this went. We lost four units, but killed four of theirs, gained some capture gold, and got 3 more units (that are not MGs) in range to hit the city on t191. If the siege goes on to t192, we'll have five more rifles and a MG on the field as well. So, for those keeping score, our stack that can hit Beijing on t190 now consists of: oledavy Wrote:41 Rifles We an additional 2 machine guns, 2 cannon and a rifle onto the staging tile on t190, and a final 5 rifles and machine gun onto the tile on t191.
Small correction for the t187 report: I used two unpromoted and one CR1 cannon--I saved all the two promo ones for the real assault. Other than that, what Dave said.

After the razing of Macau, this was a pretty quiet turn - well, if you don't count the sixty Indian unit that arrived in Beijing ![]() ![]() Moving forward revealed the Chinese city of Nanjing, staffed by a couple units. Also spotted another CKN headed into Beijing. Nothing too significant. At any rate, next turn is the big one, the turn we move 1N onto the flatland. Suffice it to say I'm ready for this fight. After preparing for this for the last two months, I'm ready for blood. No matter how this all ends, it's going to be epic. oledavy Wrote:No matter how this all ends, it's going to be epic. Kylearan Wrote:Don't forget to take screenshots while attacking! I really don't know yet. We may end up asking for a pause so we can all play together. Btw, is there anything specific I need to be reporting for the benefit of the lurkers? Earlier, in the MoSW, Ceil said he was going to place a bet on total number of dead units in the Lurker Thread, so I was planning on keeping careful track of that figure. Is there anything else I need to cover? Kylearan Wrote:Don't forget to take screenshots while attacking!Heck, we should get the entire thing on video. You might not want to use a recording program in case it upsets Civ's connectivity or timing (misclicks), but just point a digital camera at the screen if you've got one. This maybe? Plus the obligatory youtube account. I couldn't find the software I used to record the PBEM4 videos I made, but tbh that was mostly trash software anyway. |
