And now that I've made the point, I've opened the blog.
You can read all of the turn reports at the following site: http://killerkrill.wordpress.com/
Krill, I was going to ask for access to your blog, but I'd like to know if being part of the DG team is equivalent to an immediate rejection.
Thanks, Kalin EDIT: N/M thanks for opening your blog. Selrahc Wrote:I'm kind of baffled by your antagonistic attitude too.Uh well, I don't know that I'd call it a "massive" deal, but it certainly was extremely disappointing, as I'd rather been looking forward to seeing the thought processes that went into a game of civ where every single build and move gets tens or hundreds of person-hours of thinking going into it by people ridiculously better at the game than myself. Getting turn reports 6 months after the fact is a nice thought, but the unique draw of watching a MTDG is the why, not the what. If it doesn't seem like a big deal to us, perhaps that's because engaging in a sufficient amount of whining and crying to make it one would be disgraceful and likely not change anything anyways. TBH, after looking at the settings they are playing with, I'd consider it a blessing in disguise. They are using a mod that doesn't actually stop what it's supposed to stop, and playing with full espionage in a game with full diplo, on Emperor, on a fully toroidal map. I'm still expecting them to change to a full tech trading game in the next few days. I'd probably just play a troll game, take Hannibal of Sumeria and run a full EP economy whilst spamming cities and working a bunch of cottages and constantly revolt people out of HR and slavery. Declare war to get the first part of the timer, and the turn anyone researches the Corp techs, steal it and immediately found the corp - you have first part of the turn so can't lose, if you have enough spies. Oh, and as you've spammed cities all over the place, you want to run SP anyway so get to cut down the maintenance, but if you get revolted out of that you have to corps to abuse. It's a really retarded game. And yes, I do feel smug.
Oh, and something else, the "no screenshots" rule is dumb because of one very easy workaround.
WorldBuilderSave files are text files, and everyone has a program to display them graphically, so everyone can easily understand what information is being conveyed. I'm just waiting for someone to clue onto that fact and then royally abuse it.
No game can have a worse setup than the one at Apolyton, and that one was still a good time. Its unlikely this game is going to be as fun, for other reasons.

Adding to what Zargon said, we dont complain because it is rude to join a site and then tell long standing members (including both admins!!) how to run it. BUT just because I dont whine about it doesnt mean i dont care, because of RL i wont ever be able to play in a mp game like here and therefore will never be trusted at RB! Has anyone else noted that all pb plans have been shelved since mtdg 3 was announced? I certainly have! @Krill id play that game!
