Intersite Game - Turn Discussion Thread

m_h's map look like a decent movement plan.

If (when?) they do, they have it call it the NabaxoLink (or NBL for short).
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

BaxLink will be fine. ;D

That looks like a good general plan of movement mh - of course allowing for deviations due to revealed terrain (particularly hills). smile

Whoa, you guys are never going to believe this, but Caledorn - the guy who was caught cheating in a past CivFanatics Demogame - claims to have "accidentally" had a similar issue already:

Quote:To all teams:

I just did a MAJOR mistake. I was going to log in to the game on port 2058 to resign one of the players to AI, and managed to type in 2058 (the port) in my nickname instead of the servername.

The leader was the same (Darius I), and I realized my mistake as soon as I saw the score list with the names there which was the first and only thing I looked at. I did not look at the map or anything, but this is grounds for my resignation from my team as I can be considered inhabile as of this moment.

On this account, I await the team's judgments, and I will fully accept a demand for my resignation from Team CFC because of this.

I am so sorry. [Image: frown.gif]

Thoughts? I would be more lenient with someone else, but this same guy has been known to play pretty loose with the rules before. I'm not even quite sure what he did in this situation... Why exactly was he logging in to change a player to AI in the first place (????)

EDIT: Oh, I see what he did. Caledorn is on team CivFanatics, but he logged into the CivPlayers team account. Pretty big mistake right there. If he had logged into our account, I'd want him out of the game. But maybe everyone else feels differently. What do you think?

Caledorn is game host and this does seem like a honest mistake done using the admin password. Calanthien or something like that was the handle of the accused player and he is not in team CFC.

Calanthian was the nick of the guy playing a pbem game with me. He played a complete round using the admin password and then sent that turn forward (ie everyone missed a round). It was note worthy for me because he moved my stack deeper into his territory and then wiped it out.

IMO, He's the guy running the server, if he really wants to do something, he'll do something, regardless if we get riled up or not.

I'm guessing he had another PB running on a different port. He had last logged into this game. So when he tried to log into the game he was trying to resign that player, he accidentally didn't change the port. So it happens, Darius is in both games so he logged in.

I think it should be the team that got seen that should decide.

Wait, what the heck did he do here?!

I've hosted Pitboss games for years now and I can't understand what happened at all. Why the %**** is he logging into anything to resign a player to AI (you can do this much easier via the pitboss program)?! Why is he using the same admin password for multiple games?! Given these things why is he not looking at the NAME OF THE CIV HE IS SELECTING instead of just its leader head?

And, I'm sorry, but if he saw zero map info he's the only person in the history of playing Civ IV who managed to look at the list of scores in game and not see the terrain that underlays that very interface feature.

Great job CFC, glad you have that game hosting thing all taken care of bangheadbangheadbanghead
