The more mucking around you do, the more likely you are to make an error, e.g.:

Yes, and that's why there's a yellow sign on the PFH now.
We will make mistakes. The key is (1) to discover and fix them in time, (2) draw the right conclusions and take steps they don't happen later.

Well, thanks to WePlayCiv we waited the full 48hours for the next turn to roll.
Hunting came in and we are now set to Pottery.
Warrior got ignored by the panther and moved 1SW, revealing nothing new.
But at least there is some movement on the scoreboard. kjn, get cracking!
I suggest warrior continues SW next turn. And then maybe move towards a southern forest for protection? Don't really want him to stray too far from the capital.
Also, sunrise will take over turnplaying for now, as I am not available over the weekend.

Already done! But I will wait with the tile swapping techs until tomorrow, when Univers and WPC has had a chance to assign their new citizens to some other tiles (I guess they're both on 3-0-0 tiles right now).
Agree on SW with the warrior next. We have time to go south of the mountain chain (going 6xSW, 3xNW, 3xNE, ending up back at the capital on T21 or so), and I think we will have enough warning to crash a warrior in the capital if needed. We should IMO try to get as much scouting information between now and T32 as possible.

SW on the warrior move looks good to me as well, though we will have to start being careful to stay on defensive terrain. Losing the warrior to a barb animal right now would be disastrous. I will cry rivers of tears if our warrior move puts us next to a bear next turn.

Gross mod installed and login test successful. 44 hours on the clock for the turn we've already played, so it's a fun race-with-time minigame to see if I play the next turn before Sullla returns

Why not S? Just less likelihood of getting ganked due to more visibility? Ends up on the same forest.

That will not reveal the forest tile 4E of the capital. I just remember the Apolyton game, where copper was exactly located on that single fogged tile we ignored earlier in our scouting.
But in this case here, I think it is acceptable, seeing that the chance of another deer (or other resource on that forest) right there are pretty slim.
So we could indeed bypass that particular fogged tile, as it will get revealed, once we found our second city.
That would mean S-SW-SW movement for the warrior.

On the other hand, we will reveal that tile on T32 or so at the latest, and nothing we will find on that tile will change the spot for Mansa's Muse. And we won't get BW until T39 anyway.
I mean, if there is a deer or fur there, we'll be happy, but it probably won't change our game plan. And the tile is forested, so likely not some other resource.
So in this particular case I think 1S is defensible from a scouting perspective.

I'd like to start up an index/summary thread - with reports every 10 or so turns summarising what's happened & where to find the relevant discussion - easiest to keep it going if I start it early Similar sort of thing to what I'm doing for the Trolls in the intrasite demogame, if you can see that.
I've not got the mod & aren't going to install it, so if the turn player could grab me a couple of screenshots during Turn 10 that would be fantastic - I'd like an over-view shot of the land we know to mark up with our exploration & an inside the city shot.
