Is your opponents purposely breaking deals to kill it worse or is it worst for your main rival to unknowingly kill it primarily via dumb luck. I... really don't know. All I know is you guys went on to win that game (IMO), so maybe I'll get some of that carried over?
We both built Pyramids + GLH and played on water-heavy maps. Hmmm. There's something to this.
Haha, yeah... go scooter!
Dunno which is worse, though. Probably ours since the deal-breaking undermined the very fabric of out-of-game diplomacy for me. But then I would say that.

Everyone, take notes. There will be a quiz on this.

Probably yeah. It became a bit of a sham for the mass collusion. I think the biggest kick in the teeth for me was that I literally hovered over the "free 1700g" button to take that picture and could have pressed it. Ah well.
I'm trying to get all the merchant-related whining out of my system now so I can go back to normal by tomorrow.

Ouch, that hurts. I guess that's your payback for your luck of avoiding Astronomy from those late-game huts!

Ok this struck me as really funny, thanks.

Maybe I missed it, but why didn't you ooo-ooooo take the money and run? Was the plan to make it to Nakor's capital?
As for how much disappointment, can someone weigh in on a Regoarrarr reading? I'm going to measure a 0.8 here. Too high? (I'd have rated Spacemanmf's at 0.9 keeks for the shock/outrage factor).

Yeah, I wanted to get to his capital. I wasn't going to run out of money before I got to his capital anyways, so there was no cost to waiting (in theory). His capital is considerably bigger and more valuable, so if I'm getting 1700 from an island city, I'm pretty sure I would have gotten 2k+ from his capital. I think there's a way to check ahead of time, but I don't remember what it is.

Probably not quite that high. I didn't get backstabbed, I didn't lose a key city, I didn't completely eliminate my chances of victory, I wasn't the favorite to win anyways, etc. However, whatever score that gets (.6?) is still pretty significant, and it's definitely the highest I've ever registered. It definitely did lower my chances of victory no question.

So for some reason I thought this was No Tech Brokering but... apparently not. Ugh. So I guesss I need to exploit this. Let's extract some cash from Gundpowder while I still can.
Surely both will accept if somebody doesn't offer first. Maybe Azza will put it to good use vs Krill. Couple more deals I'm vaguely considering:
Thought about dumping Gunpowder on Nakor for his 360g. Main reason is I'm afraid somebody might just trade it to him anyways now that everybody has it. The other thing I'm vaguely considering is selling Education to Regopin for all 1057 gold. Education costs 4500b here so that's a terrible deal for me, but Nakor has Education now (note that he can tech Liberalism) and the last thing I want is him trading it to Regopin and me again losing out on 1k gold for no gain. I just don't want that Education making it's way back to Krill. Man I wish we were playing with No Tech Brokering. This is going to get silly. Anyways, you see now why I need to extract something from my tech advantage pronto because it's about to evaporate. Sigh. Anyways, Yuri lost yet another city:
This is just brutal. Pindicator was online so I offered a map trade which he accepted. Just look at this trail of carnage:
Seriously, can you believe that? This conquest has happened so fast that they have SIX cities still in revolt right now. SIX!! This is reminiscient of the Spullla conquest of Athlete in PB2. Is Yuris even defending? Like, what's going on? I don't know, I'm happy to see Regopin doing well as maybe that'll mean they can help keep Krill in line. Krill needs other rivals so this thing doesn't get too out of hand. This is another reason I'm apt to sell Education to Regopin btw. I just wish I could attach a note that says "on condition it doesn't go to Krill" but sadly I cannot. Urg. Decisions. That 1k gold would be absolute killer for me though. Right now I'm losing 328gpt at 100% science and gaining 1139bpt. So just by rough estimation that's just shy of 3500 beakers I'd gain. That doesn't sound right at all so if one of you nit-pickers are reading and would like to correct this go right ahead . Anyways, I'm pushing expansion on Irene:
Yep, nearly 1400AD and I'm still settling cities. Weird game. This is the problem I have though - I'd really like to be in slavery for these cities, but I just can't because golden age and caste. Weird stuff.

Hey, important Pitboss question for you guys.
What happens to those deals if they don't have that amount of gold next turn? I realized both Azza and Cyneheard are apparently deficit researching and won't login before the turn rolls. What if they burn say 100g apiece and then login? Will the offer be adjusted or will it go away or what?
Same issue with Regopin really. They're deficit teching. There's 2 hours left on the clock with only Commodore left to play, so likely none of those guys will login (def not Azza and Cyneheard) before the turn rolls. Will I get screwed if I offer now and then their gold deplete enough to invalidate the deal?

You can check trade mission value by shift-clicking cities with your merchant (queues waypoints) and then hovering over the icon while still holding shift down. Something like that. I'd test it before you do it in a Pitboss.
I'm pretty sure gold offers will remain the same once offered. They should just go into negative gold and would have to rectify that at next EOT, either by getting their slider automatically lowered or going into strike.
Oh and yes, this game should have been No Tech Brokering.

This is what would make sense, I've just never seen negative gold happen. I'm having visions of that weird diplo bug that came in up PBEM23 where the peace deal was supposed to come with demands but because those demands weren't possible (because another deal was accepted first) that resulted in straight peace being offered. Just afraid it would do the same thing and show up as a tech gift. I went ahead and offered Regoarrar as well:
Hopefully I don't get burned here. If I get completely burned and get no gold out of this, I'll ask for a reload probably because there's no reason that should happen. I'm also afraid it would just delete the deal, and because of the no diplo rules there'd be no way for me to ever know they didn't receive it.
