umm city maintenance went up by 10 [from 54 to 64] when i founded asparagus this turn. maybe thats due to distance. after founding i spotted silver. i think thats why sians warrior is lurking about. ive dotted a few cities which youll see later. hoping victoria isnt gonna be as bad

held off from revolting to hereditary rule and organised religion until you say so haha

ok the marathon of pics. i kept the tech at 50% throughout:

Half of those pictures aren't showing up properly to me, do they work for you? Last 4 for example, shows an error. You have plenty happiness for now, I'd wait a little bit with revolting to Hereditary Rule.

macavity & misto
I'd halt the courthouses right away to double whip a pair of settlers, it saves next to nothing and you don't have good tiles to grow into. You're working 1/3/0 mines over 2/0/1 cottages when you have a lot of spare happiness to grow into, I would have prioritized food here earlier.

bomba
Courthouse makes more sense here, I suggest finishing it.

rumple
Nothing wrong with growing on a courthouse while it's small, but chopping heavily into it is a waste. Very bad to work a mine here as the city is never going to grow, you need a grass farm or two asap. First priority for new cities is always to grow them first.

ok have switched to settlers in macavity and mistoffelees. didnt change tiles worked as max hammers were from current choices.

skimbleshanks now has bananas to grow on and ive switched to working the lake in rumpleteazer until riverside farm is ready. both grow in 2 turns

You usually want to work hammers when building workers or settlers, as food turns into hammers anyway and it's easier to get hammers than food.

founded victoria this turn. city maintenance went up to 75 [+11!]

metal casting completed at end of turn. i queued up civil service. hopefully shoot completes this at end of his next turn so we get the bonus haha

ok metal casting in. so when do i start forges cat?
have left the tech rate on 50% as civil service only takes 4 turns

2-pop-whipped the settlers in macavity and mistoffelees and the overflow will go into the part-built courthouses. the galley has only just picked up the workers for asparagus so ill settle the 2 mainland back-fill sites

as the market was finishing in mungojerrie ive stopped working the scientist. this made a positive change in the ratios:

although it does look very slight haha

and heres demos:

Good job getting the corn, applying cultural pressure from two cities seems to have done the trick. Demos are looking up too, but keep working hard to fine tune every decision. Focus on growing your cities wherever you have spare happiness, focus on food over production and commerce whenever it looks reasonably economic. You're last in soldiers, make sure your borders aren't an invitation for an invasion. From experience, I know that Sian likes making opportunistic strikes. How is island exploration and colonization going?
