The Girl's name is Leah (guessing from the game play trailer). As to whose love child she is, or her relationship to Cain, we will let Occhi decide

KingOfPain Wrote:Sure show how each of the devs have their own ideas how the game works or should work, and things can get worse in the wrong hands. Speaking of WW nerf on the last patch. Instead of tweaking the numbers on damage dealt, or bumping up the mana cost, he (wasn't it just one guy left to update LoD?) decided to tweak the WW animation (putting it on timer) instead making it unfun to use... Maybe I have myself to blame for this

They/he put WW on an animation timer??? No more KoP whirling Dance of Death?
Mind you, I wasn't a big WW fan, but the DoD was the fun of it. As to the barb being overpowered--clearly he's not played the game with some of us.

I don't know of any Whirlwind adjustment in 1.10, took a "spin" (bad pun) with my barb and didn't see any change, could still hit weak enemies reliably with a fast weapon. In LoD, Whirlwind attack rate has always been based off of weapon speed, meaning the attacks occur every X frames depending on the weapon speed, which you could call a timer. But that's nothing recent.

Thread in the old n54 forum. I reported the WW nerf in "Don't Say That! ;p".

Yea, the nerf pretty well rendered WWology null.
*OMG look at the primitive screen capture assembled anim gif!*

KoP I shall find a way. The creative writing muse has not been robust of late, even if the girl is.
Cyrene, I promise to name my first Diablo 3 Barbarian Ivov in honor of your old guild name, Irrelevant Vigilantes of Vaporware.
You hear me, folks? I have dibs on Ivov, the Barbarian, when we first play on whatever version of bnet exists when D3 comes out.
KoP: I always thought Realms Beyond was a reference to the little scene in Diablo I where the book, narrator, discussed the Realms Beyond . . .

Cool idea! There shall be a team variant Irrelevant Vigilantes of Vaporware, or a bunch of toons running with Ivov tag
Yea, imagine my surprise when I saw that in lvl 4...

KoP Team Ivov. OK, we can spread the Ivov love with a tag or a team.
Ivov the Engine Drivov is my guy . . . (reference to a song by The Who)
I wonder what class will be all about engines or tools/machines. Hmmmmm. Not the New/Old barb, not the witch doctor, I will guess
The Gnomes of the Gnorth.
These gnomes come either from
- Xiansai
- The mountains just south of the Dry Steppes
- The Dreadlands
- The mountains at the far end of the mountain range that splits Anaroch from the Survival Wilds/Entsteig.
See the Blizz Map of Sanctuary for where I get that idea.
Anyone want to bet they are the actual ancestors of those thrice bedamned Flayers of the Jungles of Kejistan?

I have just noticed Cy tagged it TIVoV. Perhaps he's playing off one famous 1970s new wave band?

Quote:Hi, I just started a new D3 Guild called "The Irrelevant Vigilantes of Vaporware."
Our goal is to form a powerful guild, have a leadership struggle, and splinter into a bunch of sub-guilds of one member each with out-of-date web pages--all before D3 goes into development.
After that, we'll be real busy working on the Y3k issue.
Most likely the oldest D3 guild *bragging points*, if not (was) the smallest

Heh, I don't remember the rationale over the tag and/or capitalization of same.
Here's the *really* (cue eerie music) weird thing, though. I posted that on July 21, 1999. Another thing that happened on July 21, 1999, was Teleworld, Inc., renamed themselves TiVo, Inc. Oooooooo
They were getting ready for D3!
Statements that this was the date of the infamous "spaghetti incident" are pure rumor.
