Actually straight NW makes more sense. NW will reveal the tile 2SW of the hill, while W-NW reveals the tile 1W of the forest...but we will reveal that tile anyway when we grab the hut. You could of course go W-N just for shits and giggles.

Went W-N to be cute, and because Noble's suggestion made the most sense. We were rewarded for picking up that extra sight:

Well, there's that Calendar luxury. We could cottage it early and swap it to a plantation later...doesn't look like it's farmable. We'd get the FIN bonus because it's not on a river. lol

Well, strap yourselves in, the land around here sucks. Well, it wouldn't be too bad if there was more food since there's some grassland and water, but the lack of food NW of here is a bummer. ALso the lack of stone/marble so far is disappointing too, though we haven't scouted enough to rule those out yet.
