So there's going to be an item rework before Season 3 starts. I'm sure people have seen some previews but the first list of all proposed changes are live on the Public Beta Environment. And, uh, there's a lot: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/show...?t=2801597

In addition to that, most of us will likely have to relearn everything about LoL, even more so than at the beginning of Season Two.
Wow. Talk about a serious rework of the mechanics.
I am kinda glad with the item scaling change. It's been noted that in DotA items become less efficient the most costly they are. In LoL they tend to be more powerful. With this shift, perhaps we'll see people intentionally fill their inventory with variety instead of straight rush for the shiny stuff. Also, yay more support items! A regenerating ward generator sounds kinda kewl. Basically good gods the meta is getting screwed with. Time to play safe Soraka forever for a while.

The shift towards DotA is a really interesting one, particularly with the introduction of DotA's bottle and the cost changes that you've outlined. Cooler actives is another shift of this type. Looking forward to trying it out...

Masteries and their effects. Bottom picture is new item costs. These are the new item effects. Philostone has been nerfed into the ground, +7 health per 5, +9 manna per 5. Those gold per 10 yellows are starting ot seem like a wise investment... (November 16th, 2012, 07:23)Krill Wrote: Philostone has been nerfed into the ground, +7 health per 5, +9 manna per 5. Mana regen is more important than health regen on supports.
Mana regen has gone up 1 mana/5, health regen has gone down 8 health/5. That 100g doesn't really mean much IMO. It's a nerf to those supports that need the health regen, like Blitz, Leona, especially to Leona who didn't need the mana regen in the first place. Sona and Soraka are just sitting their laughing, yay for passive lanes.
Maybe. But in reality all it means is coming to lane with an extra health pot. The 100g can pay for that three times.
The 100g is huge -- it means you can get it earlier and start the GP10 snowball rolling sooner with this and Kage's (and with Kage's upgrading into something useful)
You can't leave lane the moment you get the 520 gold needed to upgrade the faerie charm or rejuv bead you started with, the support is still bound by the needs of the ADC. And 100g on the player running gp10 yellows and quints is equivalent to waiting an additional 50 seconds. If going back at any time is considered reasonable, I think it's better to not buy anything and recall at 3:30 to 4:00 and straight up by the sightstone and some pots.
