[SPOILERS] Lurkerloos and map discussion

I'm not saying it's not worth, just that any one mover he builds in his capital (or that area) takes something like 15+ turns to reach Serdoa's capital. And there is still a lot of jungle between scooter's northern border and Serdoa, and to settle that land costs more in city maintenance. And Serdoa must have a tech edge by now: longbows and cats would be enough to force a stalemate. Ok, when you take all of that into consideration, yeah, I think focussing the empire on attacking Serdoa is a bad idea, and he won't have enough of an army left over to take and hold those core cities without further military builds.

What Serdoa does now? He expands, most likely. He doesn't build military, he builds settlers, workers. If Commodore starts to settle, he lets Serdoa build up and run away. To fight longbows and catapults from 2 cities is alot less scary than to fight musteks and rifles from 10 cities. And I double that Serdoa is going for feudalism and longbows. He might be teching for bureaucracy and building MoM right now. smile

I thought Commothoth meant razing those cities with surprise galley attack, not capturing them via another concentrated war effort. Even they aren't aggressive enough to attack Serdoa for awhile I think.

They might in fact not have their free victory after all, if pindicator plan on keeping the gold city instead of offering it for 10T peace. I'm sure without enforced peace status quo will definitely be broken before they get proper invasion force ready, invalidating very foundation behind their plan (If Commodore wipes out defending soldiers in the gold hill, they will not have enough time to defend; if otherwise, I'm pretty sure the prospect of attacking India will look much less attractive).

Serdoa is going to build military, look at the position of his cities over the seas. They are not defended with warriors. Feudalism for him is rather useful, giving him Vassalage for CG2 longbows, and Serfdom for faster workers. AS you said he needs workers, but he can get by with fewer workers if he has serfdom. He isn't going to be slaving, he also looks to have workshopped a lot of his capital and second city, which lessens the usefulness of Bureaucracy and gives him a good chunk of hammers, and he has a high-ish happy cap with rep and CHM.

Well, Serdoa might have no Archery at all smile His 2 big cities have axes. What is in his other cities? I don't know, maybe warriors smile He looks confident that all his neighbors fight each other. hammer

Serdoa might even have no IW! :P

Serdoa needs IW just to settle more cities, and not having Archery isn't a reason to not research to LB, when it is a single turn of breakeven research for an empire of that stature. And if he is defending those far flung captured barb cities with warriors then Brick and Lewger are going to have a few new acquisitions well before Commodore can get there.

Pindicator seems to be planning to have his cake and eat it too. Somehow he's expecting to keep Commodore out of McDonald's until the last possible second, without spending any units, and for Commodore to be happy to accept peace for McD once Zulu can no longer hold the place.

I could imagine Commodore maybe accepting peace for McD if he gets it early, I could imagine being able to delay him by spending units. I can't imagine how Pindicator manages to pull off his goal of a fighting retreat with no casualties and enforced peace at the end.

In particular, in Commodore's shoes, I'd be very skeptical about accepting peace right before Scootinator research Construction. It's a short window where he has cats and they don't, why would he give that up for a city he'd be about to take?

How does keeping McD allow Team Zulu to build more units than they have to spend to keep it? As far as I can see...only if Commodore is passive. They should know better! (And, honestly, I think Scooter does. It's a pity he's busy and not slapping sense into Pindicator)

And as I read it , Com doesnt want that city for their dotmap. Cant recall whether they get to raze if they accept peace. If not Com might prefer taking it to raze then perhaps aqccepting peace. Suck to be Soot, but then agai nothing new.

Nah, the reason he wanted to raze and resettle was that he was expecting to have to raze that city anyway. If he didn't need to, he'd have been happy to save the settler.
