I don't blame on asking him if it's ok wink I'm just wondering if you'd find it rude to have a guy with whom you have OB sends a scout through your land.

I mean - i could find out how he feels... if he hates it, he'll close borders and offer to reopen them, I'm sure...

Well, back to reporting.

I had noticed that Jowy did a lot of whipping last turn (4 whips, 2 of 2 pops). I didn't know why until i checked the event log today:

Someone got hit with a barb uprising of axes. I presume it was jowy and he did some emergency whips of chariots to deal with it. I'm fine with jowy whipping away population to deal with a threat - we had to, after all wink

Other things:

Cornflakes has 6 cities now! one with the strange name of Ulundi.

At some point, cornflakes declared war on 2metraninja - presumably, it was a worker snipe, cause they are at peace now. Impis are annoying...

I may have mentioned this, but I am pretty sure that jowy settled this site:

because he has horses and fur.

what else...

oh yes smile

we founded NCIS:

6 turns to grow - I have a worker chopping - I have to figure out if I want to chop in the workboat, grow, and then whip a worker later, or chop into a worker, grow and whip the workboat. Will probably chop into the workboat.

MASH
[Image: MAAHT83.JPG]

Says 8 turns to collosus, it's really 6 with the forest chop. No one has built oracle yet, which seems very late, so I presume we will get collosus - I think that if he was really ready to to whip/chop overflow, an ind civ with copper could beat us to collosus, but I'm not sure anyone would know to.

NYPDBlue keeps build a granary - will whip it in when i get a chance, overflow and chop into a worker. Then grow on a lighthouse and whip/chop a settler.

ATeam:

This pic is wrong - I am actually building a lighthouse. 2 turn growth gives me an unhappy citizen. I then buld 1 turn and 2 pop whip the settler. This way, I get some more hammers in the building and get the settler in on the same turnI would with a 1 pop whip. That settler goes to commerce, btw, and I'll build a worker after.

Overview:

Barbs marked in red (I killed one over by MASH after he killed the only warrior I will ever build in this game (DAMN HIS BLACK, BARBAROUS SOUL!!) Mil in light blue, workers (all chopping) in purple.

I marked in orange various spots where I will build a fort so I can move naval units from lake to lake. My guess is that I'll use spot #1, but 3 is possible. 4 and 5 are too valuable cottage sites, I think.

My archer on west will be able to get to see into Jowy's land soon enough. I'm hoping that barb will decideo to go to NCIS, so I can get woody II dog out of it...

And, of course, demos:

A not terrifically interesting turn, though i am going to (finally) get a WII dog soldier to go explore the jungle with.

Some things of note - We are now the 2nd strongest military in the world, behind only jowy! that's with 2 dog soldiers and 5 archers, mind you. No one is coming to kill us right now, which is nice wink Jowy's military buildup is, I'm sure, due to 5 barb axes wink

Other teams naming schemas:

Commo/Brick (The Good and Loving Empire)

The Senate
Mt. Doom
ISD Chimaera (this rings a bell, but I don't quite get the reference)
Pit of Despair
Z'ha'dum (don't know it)

Jowy (Reapers)
Citadel
Thessia
Eden Prime
Noveria
Feros

Azza (Minecraft)

Steve (I assume this is the name of the character? I must admit, I'm not played minecraft)
Zombie
Skeleton
Creeper
Spider

2metraninja (Rebel Alliance)
Coruscant
Dagobah
Bespin (I don't know this one - from one of the books?)
Hoth
Endor

Cornflakes (Random)

Don't remember the cap and couldn't get it
Doughnut
Porcupine
Volcano
Potos Village
Ulundi

(that's 6 cities)

Vicotry screen - unsurprisingly, given stonehenge/religion, I'm ahead of all my known opponents in the ever important race to 3 cities with legenday culture! well, aheaad of jowy in 2 out of 3 cities. He's ahead in the 3rd. At 92 culture. So, guess no worries for a suprise loss there for awhile wink

5 turns for Collosus now.

It's turn 84 (775 BC) and Oracle has not been built, and CoL has not been founded. What's up with that? I'm debating giving it a shot, if only to keep the ind civs honest, probably for currency, in MASH once I get Collosus. I'll get fail gold in any case. It would really suck if someone (named, say, Commodore) snuck CS from it.

Some pics:

My mil isn't strong, but it's highly promoted!! (and stronger than most anyone else!!) We have 11 hammers sunk into a dog in MASH and 1 into an archer in NYPD blue - gonna whip the worker in NYPD Blue next turn, overflow into granary and pop out another arche then settler. Growth between settler/workers will be archers/dogs.

Here we are, 2nd in power.

Z'ha'dum - Shadow's homeland from Babylon 5. That show was conceptually really good but somewhat lacking in execution.

Oracle would be nice if the marble is hooked up. Given the hut pull from Metal Casting could we land Machinery? Not great against elephants, but still highest strength unit we could build...

Actually, with Construction you could then tech Engineering for Pikes. That would put an end to any elephant/horse aggression. More road movement, Trebs, Notre Dame (100% from stone or marble?), castles for defense,...

I'm interested!

Behold the Financial Civ's GNP! How is it that we're 5th place (out of 7) with 27 while rival worst is 29? If we were tied with someone else at 27 (or 2 other civs?) then I'd expect rival worst to show 27. WAIT, half of that is culture + EP + 30 GPT. Ok, that number is just strange. SP, I never bothered to figure that out or when I did I came close enough that I thought that I understood it.

I don't think that 30gpt is totally awful given the Stonehenge start and the rampant barbs you've been facing. Oh well, I look forward to Colossus powered improvement in that number. Haha, I haven't changed my mind,...food first still.

Newest most exciting suggestion:

1. Whip out settler from A-Team.
2. Plant marble city.
3. Rush workers to hook up Marble.
4. Chop Oracle from NYPD Blue.

Alternatively, I guess you could chop it out right there in Marble City,...

I see that you need to finish Poly + Priesthood. I guess you wouldn't need to whip out a settler and could time the tech/worker/settler and military.

Is the lighthouse worth it in A-Team? Hmmm, I guess you're looking at 4 food,...that's pretty powerful. But the comparions point should be against an earlier settler for commerce with the production benefit from the 2 Happy it would provide. Or compared against the hammers saved on an Oracle build if a settler went into Marble (not to mention the 700 beakers that Machinery is worth).

So many shiny objects,....

Last point, if you land Marble city and hook up the marble, fail gold is worth 2X as much or 2.25X if in MASH. Of course I'm stating the obvious but I can't tell from your earlier email if you intend to plant for marble first or just make a run at Oracle. Either way, Oracle's worth it for the 700 bulbs for 150 or 75 hammers. Wow, what a tradeoff that would be.

I love it when a 'plan' (changes almost every turn and then) comes together.

Boooo. I always get mixed up on that one. I build it in SP and it looks so shiny in the wonder video that I always think marble.

Still way too early to actually worry about that though.

AT, do we have Masonary?

The lighthouse is just what I'm building while growing for my whip. It's worth it there (especially as I gave the sheep to NCIS), but I'm fine with slow building it.

Oracle - we need priesthood for it, which isn't a terrifically useful tech for us right now. Masonry for the marble, which puts the commerce city (which I think is my next strongest site) behind.

Man - I pretty much hope someone lands it, cause that solves the dilemna - and I didn't see this as a big wonder building game, anyway wink How can we possibly get Oracle with 2 Ind civs in the game?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm not a very big wonder builder myself, usually 1 or 2 per game. Each hammer = 10 beakers, but you're right you've got to invest beakers into it first. Still, this is deep down a tech path. This has significant trade value as well as military value. We'd be able to tech trade for whatever we passed up on.

This is the one wonder which would reduce our chances of being invaded which perhaps we need after landing Colossus and Stonehenge.

On GNP - early GNP is pretty decpetive, since it's so dependent on multipliers.

We do not have masonry, btw - We'd have to get priesthood, which is not useful other than oracle, and Masonry. I would probably do masonry first, since it's useful anyway and we can't build oracle for a while in any case (it's got to go in MASH - ATeam is kicking out workers/settlers and the other have to growth. We probably can't start it for 6-7 turns, we wont' get marble multipliers for the first few turns, so we are seeing 10 or 12 turns before it's built.

About Notre Dame - I dont' see a reason to build that, unless everyone else ignores it. We'll take it from their cold, dead, grasping hands, instead. Unless we raze the city cause we can't keep it, of course wink
