scooter adopts Bureaucracy...what's up with everyone going into anarchy? He's still spying on our GS locations though.
Can we swap to a forge in HCL? I think we want at least eight hammers into it so we can whip it at size 6 after the GA. Longbow in NHL, forge in HT I think. I think we give the corn to CM to let it grow sooner, since CO will take a while to recover from its loss of granary food anyway. Coast over mine at CO I think. Remember we need to work the coast with the new citizen at SD since we want to avoid growth after building the granary anyway.
rego finished Machinery.

So rego has abandoned chasing Liberalism and is instead aiming for Astronomy. He finished Machinery on his t129 and now is saving up for Optics. We finished Nationalism this turn and shouldn't be too far behind once everyone gets Astronomy. Or if things get nuts we can always tech Optics and then resume our plan.
Scooter was poking about our north last turn with a galley, and doing it in a suspicious enough manner that I decided to play it safe and bulb the GS in Hick Test ahead of time for Liberalism.
I was a little worried about a galley coming in from the fog. We lose 15 beakers from the planned version of things, but I figure better to be safe.
So when we opened this turn's save, we found that we may have bulbed the wrong scientist. Because scooter came with a galleon from the east.
Well, one galleon isn't too much trouble. But in case he had more coming in behind we've swapped over to longbows in all our northern island cities. Next turn if trouble shows we'll revolt to slavery and OR ahead of schedule.
Because as of this turn, Caste System has officially done it's job:
One more great person to go, due out of RUO in 2 turns. Think we can go 5 for 5 with Great Scientists? It's only 50% odds at RUO
Finished Nationalism, too. We're at 16.1k beakers. It'll be up over 22k when the GA ends in 3 turns.

Turn 132
Well, so much for the best laid plans...
I swapped plans to Machinery so we can bulb away the Great Scientist stuck in CO. It'll bulb most of Printing Press next turn and lower the risk of that city.
I thought about drafting a Vulture in CM before whipping the longbow, but decided I didn't want to discourage Scooter from attacking. If he takes the city via pyrrhic victory then I would be fine with that. Better that he use his troops against CM than take his galleons and strike inland where the cities mean more.
Next turn we'll be able to draft maces (should we need to) and a few turns after we'll have Gunpowder. But until we get Optics or Galleons of our own, scooter can run havoc on our coast.
I did start some longbows in A Wet Brat and Info I Trust. Just in case - scooter's galleons are only a turn away from IIT, even if he doesn't know it.
I'm sure I messed some plan of Noble's up in the west with the galleys and moving the settler. Did my best.

Scooter saw IIT with his galley, so he knows.

I think our tech path depends on our next great person a lot, but assuming we get a Great Scientist in RUO then I'm thinking:
Optics -> Printing Press (via GS in CO) -> Astronomy (via GS in NHL) ->
And if Rego changes gears and heads for Liberalism then we snatch Lib and a free tech ourselves.
I'm seriously considering tabling the war on Ichabod. It depends on how long scooter drags this out and how much we have to invest in defending. If we do hold off scooter only to have Ichabod get to muskets then I think we go straight for Communism and Physics.
Also, I missed this in the C&D last night, but Ruff tech Philosophy. Need to keep an eye on civs getting Philo & Education, although Ruff is probably the least threat to nab Liberalism.

Well, also keep in mind scooter hasn't been building more units. So this is likely an attack of opportunity.
We still need to get Astronomy, otherwise his galleons have free reign to threaten any coastal city. And he doesn't really have an incentive to give us peace while we are helpless to galleons.

We could just Lib Astronomy... it's more expensive than MilTrad given that there's no prereq bonus. We won't be able to bulb MilTrad of course.

Yeah, that's my reservation to using Liberalism on Astronomy. And if we're not going to use Lib on Mil Trad to attack someone, the next best play IMO is to use ot to get as close to Physics (airships, GSci) and Communism (State Propert, GSpy) as we can.
I think we can get Astronomy in 5t without using Lib on it. Less if we get a GE out of RUO and set off another GA

We should bulb and finish PP now because we don't have enough gold to finish Optics this turn regardless. We'll be able to save enough gold while finishing PP to finish Optics next turn, plus we get the village/town bonus obviously.
