I win my next game and check out my points........ 96.
*Sigh*
That happens when your matchmaking rating (read: Elo) is too low for promotion to the next tier. According to some Rioter, the LP gain can go all the way down to zero if the system does not want you to promote (yet). The only solution to this is to increase MMR by winning more than losing (or winning "losing" matchups, i.e., games skewed heavily against you).
Here's an example: Let's take that Bronze V player from Sullla's recent video. He is playing in Bronze for a long time, so his Elo is probably not over 800, and has stabilized somewhere there. Now, he convinces Froggen to duo with him, and they start to win a lot of games. Soon, he climbs to Bronze I. His MMR is maybe 900 now (remember, his k-factor is low and his Elo was considered stable before). So the system slows down his LP gain, because it does not want 900 Elo players promoted to Silver. Once his Elo has risen to, say, 1000, he will gain LP again, because the System considers him "ready" for permanent promotion to silver. But, in order to get to Gold, he will need to gain MMR of, say, 1500. No 900 Elo players in Gold!

Thanks for the explanation.
I wonder if Riot's aim was to make it as confusing and frustrating as possible, as a way to get more people involved in the non-ranked game modes?

Wait, I'm not supposed to play only ranked games?

Just downloaded LoL and started playing it the other day (since they launched the beta for Mac).
Any advice on jungling with Diana? I'm generally set after Level 6 with her ult unlocked, but before that I have problems getting off the ground without slipping into a lane and stealing someone's minions for xp.

Jungling at level 6 isn't really straight forward, you need a good amount of masteries (I think at least 11 points in defence) and you need armour runes.
Current games (All): RtR: PB80 Civ 6: PBEM23
Ended games (Selection): BTS games: PB1, PB3, PBEM2, PBEM4, PBEM5B, PBEM50. RB mod games: PB5, PB15, PB27, PB37, PB42, PB46, PB71. FFH games: PBEMVII, PBEMXII. Civ 6: PBEM22 Games ded lurked: PB18

The champions that can clear the jungle at an early Summoner level are Nunu, Warwick, Fiddlesticks. No other way than Machete + 5 pots. It's not very efficient if you don't know how to jungle and your top lane doesn't know how to play the inevitable 1v2 lane.
When I started my Europe West account, I played jungle Alistar because
1) it was season 2, jungle was much easier
2) I've already played Alistar quite a lot before
3) I (used to) main jungle
It basically meant that I would barely take blue buff, heal up with pots, and go wreck some heads with my buff + faster-than-anyone-else level 2. At level 2, Alistar locks people up for 10,000 years.
But yeah otherwise jungling is not worth it until you have runes.

Yeah I would not play jungle until you start seeing it more. Same with support.
Even if you wanna play jungle as your main later on, you will have to learn all roles anyway to understand the game.
However, you can still take jungle buffs or kill the groups in-between laning.

Due to SoloQ being full of awesome people , I find myself playing Top and Jungle a lot more now instead of dedicated Support (still stuck in Silver 4).
However, my goto for both tends to be Cho for the inherent tankiness and relatively fast wave clear. I know I'm a horrid dueler, and assuming they don't have a juke I can land the Ruptures usually. I'm also stingy with my IP (read: don't play enough to farm it). So if it costs 3150 IP or more, I probably don't own it.
As a result, I get completely wasted by some Top Laners like Wukong/Lee Sin/Irelia who can escape my disable and lay the damage on me, winning the trade. Thoughts on better ways to flesh out my roster? I have done some experimenting jungling Udyr, but haven't taken him top yet. My other thought was Singed was plausible since he in theory can run away and poison, but I can't seem to get enough tankiness and AP to be effective. I'm also apparently horrible at flings.
Ironically I once did OK as a Zyra top (the joys of people being jerks in team select). But the Wukong was complete trash and couldn't dodge my disable for anything, so that doesn't count.

Thresh: Nunu* was coming.
Ashe: You could have told me.
Thresh: Why? The information is already on your screen.
Thresh: Watch your minimap.
Ashe: I CANT WHEN IM FARMING YOUR SUPPOSED TO WATCH IT AND TELL ME
Ashe: THATS HOW BOT LANE WORKS RETARD
