Hello all, and welcome to the bar and grill!
I don't think we'll have many customers sitting down at the bar for a few weeks, but check back here as soon as all of the teams have met in game for some fun chats.

Question about the rules: If one person meets everyone else, and that person can post in here, are we allowed to ask that person to post something for for us.
IE, Ruff has met everyone and tells us. I ask Ruff to post some RP after I complete a wonder or whatever, which I write and give to him, and he then posts here.
Is that acceptable?

personally, I think all teams should be able to post here. If a player wants to give away spoilers to the opposition, then so be it.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

AHHH, posts in my closed thread! Might as well answer them now that I'm here too though...

I dunno about spirit of the rule; every time I'm seen it used it's been to stop people creating alliances at the start of the game. I don't see anything untoward happening, as nothing really sensitive would get discussed. Basically from the RP perspective if one person has contact with everyone, and the pyramids have just been built, either that player is willing to say who built it or not. If not, then they can refuse to post the RP publically for the third party, and if they are happy to give out that info they can easily email the info to everyone if they so please.
All the difference amounts to is that if someone wants to add a bit of roleplay to the game and they know someone who has contact with the entire world, it is possible to do the roleplay.
I really consider the rule to be exactly as written; if you have not met every team, you can't post about in game stuff here (unless it's a rules query etc, metagame stuff). If you have met everyone you can post whatever you want here. Could be misinformation for all we know.

Sorry for the slight delays with our team. Ruff is on holiday and I have taken over, so things should run quicker again.

Greetings all!
As the first player to make contact with all other civs, I have the dubious honour of being the person with the worst EP ratio!
I would like to thank those who helped me along the way. Those who permitted me open borders for exploration. Those who gave me dirctions. Those who arranged contact with other civilisations.
I would especially like to thank the hard work of my scouting units Justin Specting and Magellan's Folly for their efforts. Justin fought off numerous barb animals and dodged warriors while making the brave trek to the far side of the globe to meet the Inca and complete the set.
Magellan's Folly's journey was somewhat more ignominious. Indeed on turn 50 he found himself trapped on a single navigable coast square blocked off by Carthiginian culture. I'll be sure to post the screenshot post map-making. The hot-headed captain even considered declaring war on our Carthiginian friends but saner heads convinced him of patience and the captain 'pulled a homer' when Carthage turned up with writing on the very next turn! So unsuccesful was his voyage that he was responsible for contact with exactly zero new civiliations and map intel of dubious benefit. So at some point in the future, if any of you have galleys and happen to be at war with me, do me a favour and sink that useless b*stard.
Anyway, do hurry my friends and make contact with your neighbours near and far. Join me for food and beverages in our fabulous Cape Town Bar & Grill establishment. The first round is on me.

Ah I was hoping to be the first in this fine esstablishment. But alas Shady is here.
I will take that free round but the next is on me. The animals in the realm are vicious and both of my scouts became food.
Thanks to all who aided my exploration. It is good to be here now.

Many congratulations on your Oracle... a double score boost! Bottoms up!
I have decided that I'm going to try and collect a Unique Unit from every other player. Will have to see if I can tempt people with trades. I sort of miss the old Civ1 days where your diplomat can bribe opponents' units. Sure would make my 'mini-mission' easier.
But hey, I got my first mini-mission of being first to the bar.
