Any interest in asking Apolyton if they would like to trade world map for world map? Circumnavigation is already gone, so that doesn't factor into the decision. Even if they say no, we haven't lost anything, and it would reveal some more of their attitude towards our team.
Thoughts?

And I'm guessing they'll be less inclined to trade after we steal Lib away from them

I was thinking we didn't want our core to get spread around, but then I think we can put map knowledge to use better than other teams, so it's probably worth it after all. How about this simple message:

Thanks,

I favor not sharing. Apolyton and CivPlayers are spending monster EPs on us, and I'd rather not give them visibility on our land. Remember that CivPlayers has full 'investigate city' benefits on any of our cities it gets maps of.

This is exactly why I was pretty hesitant about going for this. CivPlayers gets our maps and they likely instantly get to see inside several/most/all (confirmation someone?) of our cities. Speaking of, it's about time to look for a NAP extension with them. It doesn't really "end" until T130 (and even then it's rolling so they'd have to explicitly cancel it), AND they said they probably wouldn't talk extension until it ran out... but we might as well still send an extension request to them pretty soon.

Good thinking on CivPlayers.
Regarding map sharing - hard to say, really. Ceiliazul has a point, but remember that our map info is already out there. CFC and the Germans has good intel on our land already. Apolyton already has a chariot outside our lands, and we have a scout outside theirs, so map sharing would simply speed things up.
So I think I favour sharing maps with Apolyton.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

I do think "get as much map info as possible and abuse it" vs "try to protect knowledge of our core for as long as possible" is a pretty fundamental question, and I think both are pretty valid thoughts. This may be one of those odd cases where a poll is worthwhile. Before that though, I'd suggest firing away if you have opinions. I'm basically on the fence here, and I suspect I'm not the only one, so argue away.
