EU IV is coming out later this year. Considering how good (and polished!) CK2 was, I think Paradox is going to get this one right. I know come fall I'll want to run some SGs for EU IV. Brick did a showcase of EU III a while back: Brick Showcases EU III
For anyone not familiar with it, Crusader Kings 2 was "Be a Feudal Lord, and have fun." This will be the same thing, although at the "Renaissance Country" level, instead: 11/11/1444 (Battle of Varma) to the late 18th century. Dynasties won't be nearly as intricate, sadly. But we do get colonization.
Me, I'm looking forward to making France the true master of the New World.
Why am I bringing this up now? Well, Paradox has come up with a rather clever way to get its fans to shill for the game - rewards for referring people to its site/mailing list. This isn't a pre-order, and the newsletter update is optional.
Full disclosure: I'm totally doing this for the e-books.
3 referrals: a Unit Pack DLC (Winged Hussars) for EU IV, and an e-Book copy of The Prince (Paradox has done their own introduction)
5 referrals: a graphical DLC (National Monuments - Notre Dame et al), their Strategy Guide (hopefully not made obsolete by patches???) and the Art of War (again, Paradox has their own introduction)
At 10 referrals, there's a free copy of EU III, which I'll give to one of my 10 referrals at random.
