Actually there's another corollary to that. If culture unhappiness gives you fractional (relative to the number of citizens) unhappiness, then I imagine different fractional unhappiness add up to integer amounts and will be improperly attributed in the interface? So if you have 0.5 citizens of unhappy from culture, 0.3 citizens from war weariness, and 0.4 citizens from religion, you'd get 1 unhappy out of that but it may be all attributed to religion on the interface.

So, are you going to attack the city next turn if there are no reinforcements?
North Point's culture will now occupy the third ring tiles on the island even if we get rid of the island city now, because dazed now has nonzero culture on those tiles. NP won't generate further culture on those tiles, though.

I did a little bit of simming on this before playing the turn (and concluded not to attack this turn). An attack next turn may go well or it may go badly. A lot depends on the first few battles, so I'll probably give it a shot and reevaluate as I go.
I have to run.

Looked at the save. We've got twice as many units if he doesn't reinforce next turn, which generally means success in the ancient era. I'm not sure if we'll be able to take the city in one turn though which would be the issue.

By the way you might want to work a 1/2 tile in Time for two turns and double up the workers for one chop, that'll complete the library the fastest.
And maybe we should just sit around his city until we roll up the cats in eight turns or so...

Well, dazed loaded up North Point's archer and vulture, so it's now or wait for cats. If you do attack I'd attack with the 3/5 exp to-be-promoted CR1 phalanx first, gets a good shot at doing decent damage without being too valuable. The objective is to have one phalanx left over to take out the spear of course.

Things went well. I lost all my low-odds battles, but I did significant damage to the defenders. My GG survived as well, although he may be killed by the units on Dazed's galley. I didn't realize that attacking would use both my GG's moves, or I would have moved inland before attacking. I got a new GG in Leap, maybe I'll use it for a supergalley to ambush Dazed's misnamed North Point.

As you can see I'm getting Construction next turn, with the aid of some wealth builds.
