e: A lot of folks got no visible food in the bfc (4/6) and most didn't complain about it. Although Seven seemed to know what he was guaranteed in the starting position by knowing how the mapscript is designed. Maybe reiterate this (what's guaranteed) and play it as it lies?

Their issue is they don't know which food type, and the whole point of seeing starts before you pick is to know how the opening techs will help. Seven's thread comment about picking conservatively when you can't see food misses this point: you would have been just as well off picking before the starts were shown because now two players have extra imfo to make their decision with.

I think if you manually unfog the BFC with worldbuilder then there won't be any extra sight outside foggazing. But i'd test that in WB first. Or if it does then you should be able to manually re-fog those tiles

Nice looking river start despite the fact that I can't see any food resources. and I am guaranteed a grain or grassland deer/AH resource, plus another food resource.

If that's accurate then just give the dissidents a slap with a trout or two.

Full BFC reveal is probably the only way to allow everyone to pick fairly and not have a t0 loser, but I'll be really disappointed if it makes Krill change his pick and strategy which sounds fascinating...

In fact is it worth saying you're not so convinced by the fairness of Seven's script?

I went ahead and posted one food for each start in the threads. It really isn't fair for some to see it and others not.

Some will get pissed because others gained while they did not learn anything new. But now each person knows one food resource.

Noble is right, I should have positioned one food to be visible in each start in the first place. My fault.

As for the map script, it's highly unbalanced by default. Every change I made was to increase balance... I'm certain I didn't go *too* far. I only hope I went far enough.

Well, someone better start rolling new maps. I'm less worried about being potentially replaced and more worried about Krill bailing completely. :-(
