Machinery due eot101, perhaps.
          Boldly finished the Hanging Gardens and is now a clear food and population leader. Unfortunately I'm the one squeezed between Zak and Boldly, whereas Zak and Boldly hardly share a border. Well, I suppose Zak could launch an attack on Boldly's Colossus city but his army isn't exactly placed to do that at the moment. Boldly also has Alphabet for some reason, but I haven't bothered noting down his exact techs. He has Monarchy but lacks HBR, Machinery, Feudalism and Calendar.
I have to run.

I see quite a lot of wealth builds. How temporary will that be? Until you reach some specific tech target, which enables good multipliers or something? Until you switch to full war mode? I would be interested to hear the reasoning/logic behind the approach

Of course, before that I built wealth extensively to get Civil Service ASAP so I could double-revolt to Bureaucracy and Representation. And before that I built wealth to get Metal Casting for triremes... In general, I've been hammer-heavy and my economy has been semi-crashed, so wealth builds have been a good deal. A few of my cities have been on permanent wealth duty for forever. I'll be switching to full war mode next turn, but that may also involve wealth builds in my backline cities to fund upgrades of frontline troops.

My forces are gathering on north central island. Zak evacuated his horse archers, I'm not sure what's going on tbh. He probably can't hold Oman, so maybe he's realized that and is evacuating the units that suck at defending. I just hope he doesn't run 20 horse archers straight at my core.
