[SPOILERS] Smackdown Game Thread

From sea to shining sea...

6 HAs might be able to take on Gandhi's entire standing army. As it is, we expect to face a whipped spear (if they revolt back to slavery from caste system), the axe shown in the pic, and perhaps a couple of units ferried over on galleys. It's hard to imagine us not capturing the city, and driving the red guys out of Sumerica.

Btw Plako: this map is great. Truly a lot of fun to play on. I wouldn't say it's balanced, but that's not what we asked for anyway.

The settings for this game turned out quite interesting, I think. Tech pace seems a little bit slower than other games I've played. Each team gets about twice as much production as in a typical game, which I like (admittedly to support a much larger number of cities, too). Tech pace is not outstripping production too much, as is often the case. And it seems like golden ages won't be so dominating as they are in most games, since they only affect half your team's empire. Traits seem to be more balanced.

The combination of map, settings, and players has certainly provided some fun. War started with ancient units (but late enough to not be too random) and hasn't let up since. People are prioritizing all the military techs, unlike many PBEMs where players will skip Construction, HBR, and even Archery until after they can build macemen. At least three teams (us and our neighbors) have Construction already, and no one has Civil Service or Machinery. Two teams (us and now LAM) have a player in vassalage.

Since we're not doing C&D, it's really hard to tell how we stand in relation to the other teams. It feels like we are ahead: Code of Laws is the first tech we've researched in a long time that we weren't the first to reach. We consistently have the top GNP player, we have the greatest land area and highest power, and we have pretty good (probably second best) population. So, even though I think the game is far from decided and a lot of fun to play, I am to some extent steeling myself for opponents to concede just when it gets really interesting. The combination of being first to all kinds of techs, only having military victories, increasingly hard turns to play, and possible burnout by players on other teams, mean that based on my past experience it's just a matter of time before some opponent wants to do something else with their time. I hope I'm wrong though.

We can start calling this "The Curse of the Seven" or something along those lines.

Easiest solution is stop teaming with Mack, since he's one of the few that actually gets you to the end game. alright

Seven i seen your sign in game, but we have a litle problem, just now i checked the log and someone got an artist and that one must be rmog, becasue there its not posible for anyone else to get it,so i think they will bomb the new continent city.

So i think in GA we should work as many great artist we can hoping we get one too. About atack i would say most likely will abort them with tem having maces.I think ican end this turn without needing an answer but for next one could be important.

Yeah I think they have an artist too. I didn't do gpp calculation but maybe we can get a 100% artist from the cow river City? If that city can produce a gp despite the strength of ne city, and running artists there doesn't produce so much culture that your ginger ale gets too many tiles stolen (I really don't that would happen) then we don't have to take any chances about it.

Btw Rmog got alpha. Most likely reason is for being able to bulb more with scientists. I think there's a good chance they spend artist in a golden age. Artist was probably low odds from mom city.

That last post was so un-Sevenlike.

You don't culturally steal BFC tiles from teammates, do you?
