So which start would everyone have liked best?
Personally I'd take molach's Roman legions. Iron nearby, room to expand lots of food. Agg praets and Cre! Azza with no metal... Wunderbar...

Well, ignoring neighbors, Molach, suttree, Oxyphen and Sisu have the best starts I'd say.

Not paying enough attention for that. I'd be happy with any of them. And I'm certainly not spending any energy trying to decipher Commodore's map.

Suttree, on the other hand, really lacks in food specials. Should have been more aggressive, now he's blocked off by a holy city.

I haven't really followed anything else but lurker thread. Now I did look at latests posts in Kuro's thread and Nicolae's attempts to get Kuro to improve the Deer tile. Seems to me Kuro is purposefully playing suboptimally, just for laughs.

I'm tempted to actually sim Kuro's start and then post a picture saying "Hey Kuro, if you had improved the deer this is what you would have right now. Oh and the GLH too."
