In any case, yes, I realize I jumped the gun a bit and that it was a mistake, for which I apologize. I got caught up in the momentum of the idea and I knew that, as a group as a whole, we tend to stagnate and let stuff just sorta fade without giving it the attention that's due to it, so I acted prematurely. I'm pretty sure the officer list is back to what it was before, but if I missed anyone then, y'know, oops.
BTW, in the past I've tried to get stuff moving even without GL powers, so don't go thinking this is me on a power trip.

Step done as guild leader please.
It's awfully interesting to me WB, that you seem to be objecting to the fact that an action was taken without universal support of the rest of the guild (moving all Officers to Members), yet you are yourself demanding the same thing (by asking Wyrm to resign). Wouldn't that fall under the category of "major changes" that all opinions should be considered for? You can't have your cake and eat it too.......
For myself, I FULLY support Wyrm, and I feel quite confident that the majority of the guild does as well.

Anything specific that's such a problem, WB? I haven't seen it. How much does it really take to 'hold the reins effectively,' anyway?

I was en route, somewhere between Denmark and New Zealand at the time.

Correction: I'm objecting, in this instance, that a reasonable effort to gauge a widespread opinion has not been conducted. The guild has never operated like that. It never should IMO.

I think he's trying to start a motion, which may not get far, but you need to start somewhere, so it's fair.
I do see the point that Wyrm has acted rashly in some cases (including this one), but right now I think the benefits of positive change and active interest in conflict resolution are outweighing the drawbacks. Especially since he admitted this flaw and reversed it as best as possible. But it's not hard to see why others would be less forgiving. Still no offense to the past torchholders (including myself) but we've never had an ideal GL, I doubt we ever will, and given what I see as the guild's current needs, he's probably the most suited for the job at this time.

Damn! Slowed by bureaucracy!
I don't think a vote for either the demotion movement or faith in Wyrm's leadership needs to take place unless a portion of the guild, larger than just WarBlade alone start to voice their concerns. I for one have no interest in the unexplained no's that arise from such poll's. We're about communicating!
However before the change does take place it's a good idea to pursue the new thread (RBGW: Then and Now) and iron out a policy of what we aim to expect from those seeking Officer status in RBGW.

I'm not sure how you get that he's trying to start a motion when what he said was......

That seemed more like a unilateral demand than any kind of request for a motion........

And so, the fun part begins.
Not like I should be surprised anymore though.

I'm with Seijin here. I came from a game that was labeled Action and Romance. The Action was for all the PvP in the game and the love was because you had to love drama to survive there very long. Almost 2 years I stayed there and finally left because I was over the drama part.
I came back here because I liked who I gamed with and even though there were a few issues that would rise up every now and again, but they would sort themselves out and we would move on like some strange internet family that worked well together and would step up to the plate for.
I love helping the guild. I like that people feel like they can talk to me. It's great that everyone has a say in what goes on, and that we discuss things and no snap decisions are made. I want that to continue.
I just think that some things that are said are unnecessary and said out of harshness, being rash, or just not thinking. Everyone is just as different as everyone else. Some things you just have to let slide and move on. Some things you have to think well I'm not surprised that he/she said that because it's their nature or the way that they are. We are still a group of individuals that come together for the love of the game. That's what we need to keep in mind. We are friends and it is just a game.
This is just my 2 cents for all its worth because I am terrible at writing anything. I believe that Wyrm and Fox got my fair share in the typing and expressing my opinion. I'm not pointing fingers or laying blame because I'm guilty of it myself. I just don't want things to come between the people that I have gamed with what would seem like forever.
Thanks,
Jude
