[SPOILERS] Welcome to the Kuro Corporation! (Kuro and BaII)

I wanted to do what Novice had said, as the 2nd city would have been able to grow up some city sizes w/o having to plant farms to grow up. We could have cottaged the Grassland instead of being forced to farm it for extra food.

We should call it The Omnideer now.
rolf but in all honesty Nicole, if you want to give out advice, I would recommend not to it in that tone of voice, as more likely than they it would anger them, and most of the time have them yell back at you.

Nicolae's posts haven't been very understandable, but if you ignore good advice just because you don't like the way that it's said, that is simply your loss.

Yes I do agree with you that ignoring good adivce is a loss, but some people could potentially become infuriated and take it more in a negative fashion.

Yeah and that's their loss too.

Yeah, I can get that, although I can't see when we would have shared the fish from the capital to Buick at any time yet (The fish's growth was too vital to just about every plan so far to remove)...and since we were worried about war, I didn't feel comfortable not settling on the copper (Especially since the city would not have been a great Moai city IMHO)

Think of it this way: If we hadn't put it where we did, we still wouldn't have copper hooked up OR would have just hooked it up (But w/o any cottages up), with a neighbor as close as we have to the south

I would not even care about Moai this early in the game. All that matters is improving your city yields and getting as much population as possible.

If you're really worried about neighbours, track power graph, station sentries, count tiles so you know how much eta you have, and know when you have to emergency improve tiles with suboptimally moved workers.

There are times to sacrifice long-term outcomes for short-term military superiority, and this was not one of them.

When would you have slotted in sentries during our build? Do you feel that when we noticed WilliamLP's power graph go up, it was not enough to worry? Why is getting food into our hardest to grow city, then timing the Deer to finish in a way to jump start our fourth(/fifth) city not "Getting as much population as possible"? We would not have really gotten any extra pop in our capital...

(Plus, David Buick is not sacrificing long-term outcomes for short-term military superiority: The city really doesn't have any long-term outcome that is good to begin with. And again, there is no point during the game so far they could have shared the fish)

Monotheism in 8T, but it should go down to 7T either when we found our cities (Since we can run deficiet research + Sailing = immediete 1 commerce TR) OR when we get to 6T (As it seems I can pull off the "Pull the Workers onto the coast" again to get it done). Nobody has gotten it yet. I'm hopeful.

As I said, Sam Walton is putting it's overflow into a Worker, then switching off the Worker to grow, then finishing it. The Worker should be out by T80.

Both of our Settlers are en route to their destinations: Both cities will be founded T74, giving us 5 cities. 5 cities on T74 isn't too bad, is it? Especially with a failed Great Lighthouse bid...

Standard Oil will put it's hammers into a Granary as it grows, then double-whip the Axes and hope the barb city doesn't have Archers (Or if so, only one) yet (It is probable it will, but at this point we might as well try (In terms of risk-reward or cost-benefit, the risk is minimal and the cost is low due to our only contested land being available solely to us, while the reward is great due to the city placement and the benefit is large enough to outweigh the cost).

That is all for this turn, but it looks like it'll rollover soon, so you should see me more next turn...
(And apologies if I have been snappy again.)

Bingo!

We can found a nice little city there: With Crabs, we can run the Crabs, the copper ice, the ice hill and a bunch of coast to get a decent city there. Hopefully there is even more seafood there, as it would allow us to get a good little fishing village w/ production there.

Thanks to the current hammers invested into David Buick's Lighthouse, it can be 2-pop whipped w/ max overflow when the city grows in 5T: When the Lighthouse gts to 29 H, I am going to switch off of it to a Granary, then 2-pop whip it and overflow into the Granary, which should allow a nice finish of the Lighthouse and near finish of the Granary.

Next turn is the turn: We'll be adding John Dodge and C. Vanderbilt to our cities! Worker #3 is done it's cottage, so it'll move over to C. Vanderbilt to chop out the WB: The Deer for John Dodge will be finished and ready in 2T, so it'll be done 1T after John Dodge is actually founded. Unless WilliamLP or BoldXenuBrick get a city out next turn, we will beat both of them to 5 cities, though we were beaten to 4 due to failed TGL build.

WilliamLP is gaining his pop from whipping back, so large increase in graphs. He is also still putting all his EP into BoldXenuBrickformers: Good for us!

1.3 miles to the store and back in 100 degree weather? Not in the best of moods!

You know what does make me happy? I was mistaken on the time to camp the Deer:

John Dodge will work it and probably whip out the Granary Size 2 or something. The Workers will go improve the other Deer to really get the food going.

You know what makes me unhappy? Retep founded Judaism. frown I'm going to go grab Animal Husbandry over Monotheism now (4T for Husbandry, so it should time well w/ C. Vandervilt), then go up to Writing: The tech path will then likely go for Monotheism to unlock Monarchy OR go for Theology for a religion, depending on the current atmosphere. We'll want to go Mono -> Monarchy either way though, due to the need for happiness, the question is just on if to slot in Theology before Monarchy (Or even try it after Monarchy!)

Walton can start on that Worker next turn to help get citystuff going. When we get Writing, I suggest doublewhipping a Library there and then running 2 Scientists to get an Academy at our capital: We might not be Philosophical, but the early Great Scientist is still a good move! And if our core cities end up pulling the majority of the weight, an Academy will be extremely helpful.

Slight power increase. In addition, WilliamLP seems to be running gold, as their 2T Writing is now 31T: Did they miscalculate the amount of gold they needed to get to Writing? Are they trying to do a C&D trick? Barb troubles, maybe, causing them to inflate costs and need a turn to build up the treasury? Interesting possibilities. We are the only one we know with 5 cities so far.
