Set up an additional GPT trade such that you can finish Machinery this turn while doing 100% research. Then you'll need a turn or two of 0% (or 50%) to rebuild gold reserves. I think we should possibly go for Civil Service next so we can have Macemen and Bureaucracy. Unless anyone else has any suggestions.
I also made a minor micro adjustment in Calcar Ridge & the Moai city (I keep forgetting it's name) so that Calcar is working a specialist to quicken another great scientist and the Moai city is working it's other hammer tile to quicken the Moai by a turn. Change them if you want, but I think those settings are best. And when Calcar grows this turn, it can work two scientist specialists after that.

I'll try to take some screenshots tomorrow night or during the day on Thursday at the latest. Just too tired to do so tonight. But for those not in the know, both LAM & Smack are in Golden Ages right now. LAM has been for a handful of turns, Smack just recently happened.

I've gotten Forges in almost all my cities, after ending this current turn (making a few more Longbows), I'm currently 2nd in Power.

The Moai city is Walcheren Isle. Sounds like progress, and Civil Service sounds like a good idea!

Sucks the hill isn't roaded. I would have back line cities send up some Hwachas. Calcar can 2 pop whip a Longbow into an Archer (use gold to upgrade once the Archer is finished) and then repeat (i.e. 2 pop whip Longbow->OF archer (upgrade)). I'd even consider switching to Vassalage at some point. Ideally, you would want ~3-4 CG II Longbows and ~4-5 Drill II Longbows plus lots of Hwachas. Was a unit pump ever set up? Do we have iron yet? Crossbows would also really come in handy right about now.
