It was Thursday. Dawn was slowly breaking over the walls of Trollheim, and Trolltenant-Colonel Antisocialmunky saw just how outnumbered he was this morning. Maybe this time the forces from beyond his realm would sack the city today. Maybe they'd just spin their wheels. Or maybe Spymaster Kjnoren would stab the Trolltenant-Colonel with a dagger in the Cloak Room.
General-Diplomat Scooter, sensing that victory was within his grasp, rallied his forces to take this city and end the War of the Trolls.
"Macemen! Elephantmen! Catapultmen! Lend me your pikes!" *Scooter's trusted adviser Pindicator whispers in his ear* "Wait, none of you have pikes? So just listen for a second, ok? When I was a young Zulu commander, we fed our army on fast food and captured India with rickety boats, duct tape, and whatever spare parts we could put together. This won't be nearly that hard. We've got rocks! (Catapultmen cheer loudly) We've got tusks! (Elephantmen trumpet even louder) And we've got ball-and-chains! (Darrelljs cheers loudly) What does this guy have? An epic wartroll, the left third of the Trophy of Culture, and a rage-destroyed computer. So let's scale these walls, break down his gates, burn this city, and end this War for the good of all realms. Beyond the one that we're destroying. So who's with me?"
*The assembled army erupts in cheers*
*To Be Continued*
EDIT: Not really to be continued. I think we all know how this story ends. :P

I noticed you recently declared war on ASM, so I'm sure you'd like to secure your other borders. If we can extend our NAP to T300, I'm sure I can help you figure out a way to triple move him. ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif)

I WILL SIGN A NAP WITH YOU WITHOUT QUESTION OR CONDITION. I SUSPECT THE 15 SETTLERS YOU HAVE QUEUED ARE TO MAKE A 2-MOVE SENTRY NET. I TRUST YOU WHEN YOU SAY YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF A FARMERS GAMBIT. WE ARE FAST FRIENDS NOW AND FOREVER.

I'd be glad to accept your NAP proposal without offering a single thing in return. It would be great if you could declare war on scooter on T299, otherwise I will be completely incapable of surviving his impending attack.

Sorry to interrupt the silliness, but just a piece of actual news: Caledorn has applied to the private forum group here and I just approved it.

I have no desire to derail the turn thread but I don't think arguing for playing with integrity is a nitpick. A replay of a turn should be a good faith effort to replay that turn as close to exactly as possible. Period. If CFC used a reload that was their fault to replay their turn and fix mistakes in a way that helped them, in some very small way, we'd think they were dicks, and we'd be justified.

I think it's an honest difference interpretation between "spirt of the law" and "letter of the law". Spirit of the law is to replay the turn with the same overall goals finished: capture the same German cities, arrange troops towards same goals. The misclicks have not been seen by the Germans nor have they influenced German moves -- I don't think they could have even logged in to see them yet -- nor did we gain additional sight or map knowledge by making those mistakes. So by the spirit of the law there is no point to make ourselves recreate misclicks.
Letter of the law is to get the exact same combat rolls and move everything in exactly the same position. However, getting the the exact combat rolls is impossible due to the RNG being different for combat. So letter of the law is impossible. Therefore people are deferring to the spirit of the law.
That's my interpretation at least.
Now if people were advocating a completely different strategy to play the turns, using the knowledge that we gained in the scouting of the German tundra cities (that they are lightly defended) then that would clearly violate the spirit of the law and would absolutely be wrong of us to do.
