I'm gambling that Oxy would rather not attack me. We'll see. I'll pay attention to turn order when he engages the barb city so as to not double move, but I'm going to attempt to raze the city if I can. Oxy should be able to prevent me doing that by killing one barb unit initially and then the other two on the next turn. If I was in Oxy's place, I'd move the axe up next turn, attack the following, then attack with the chariot first on the following turn. If it wins the ~75% fight, kill the last defender with the axe. If he does that, I never have an opportunity to raze the city. If not...
Speaking of a little barbarian raiding... Unless someone convinces me not to, I'm seriously thinking about putting these two chariots on the galley and taking a crack at Kuro's barbarian city to the north. I guess I should fire up the sandbox and run a few sims. It seems like it would be a very near thing to take out the city in one turn, and that I'd probably have to land to avoid the amphibious penalty to get odds. I'm assuming 2 combat1 axes with full 25% fortify on a hill and no cultural defense, so 8.25 for the defenders. Hmm... maybe I should wait until I can get my promoted chariots up there. A melee bonus would certainly help.
WilliamLP gained two new cities this turn. I'm guessing one is the barb city I so horribly failed to capture ~10t ago.
Still growing like a weed.
Sisu's GNP is impressive. I love river financial cottages. I love them less when my neighbors have them.

Reacting to other players this turn...
Sisu has wandered up a chariot to take a look around. I covered my worker with the healing chariot and massaged the overflow in The Boathouse to get out a quick spear.
Retep is coming in for a visit with his galley. Is it empty? Maybe, but I'd guess there's an axe on there just waiting to take an opportunistic shot if one is provided. Who wouldn't want to raze the Mids/Henge, greatest city in the world capital? Not gonna happen. I'll shadow the galley with Ser NobleHelium the Pious. Happy Face will grow and give the the hammer needed to 2t the axe, and Mister Love will put a turn or so into the axe and then be ready to double whip the library and overflow for the axe, if needed. Also, not pictured, I aborted my half-baked notion to take out Kuro's barb city to the north. I'll look at that again when retep is gone with that boat.
I still hate this city. I was on the fence about whether it would be better to 3pop the library now or wait until it would regrow instantly to size 4. I opted for the latter.
We have now saved enough gold to tech Iron Working (5t). I'm waiting for the last libraries to finish before turning tech back on, so it looks like T97 for Tyler and, depending on what I have to do to defend Retep with whipping a unit, ~T100 in Mister Love. I'd prefer not to whip there, as I'd rather work maximum cottages. Or, if I whip, I'd like it to be a 3pop for maximum production so that we don't really feel the happy crunch so long. Anyway, I'll begin teching when the libraries are in, so ~T104 IW will be finished.
Last, I'm putting together thoughts on how I want to settle the jungle rice/sugar city just north of Sisu. I think once Retep leaves with that galley that I'll have a couple extra bronze units to garrison the front line city, so I'll work on a 5-6t settler out of Happy Face or Mister Love, depending again on if I have to whip there.
The turn rolled. Oxy's barb city is still there with two units. I'm going to leave my chariot in striking distance and hope that his chariot dies in a 75% fight so I can raze the city. If he wins both fights, the city is his.
Lurkers, this conduct is ok, right? Last turn he logged in briefly before I played, logged out, I played, ended turn, logged, then Oxy played. We're not at war, but "don't be a douche" in this case implies that I have the first shot at it, which I've just kind of bypassed by logging in/out. If Oxy plays and takes his shot and misses, the city is fair game, right? The alternative would be I just wait until next turn where I would act before him for a third consecutive turn and then take the city then, if the option is available.
Do I have this right, or am I bordering too closely to the edge of being a douchebag?
The problem with the turn split is that Oxy tends to log in before I play but doesn't end turn frequently at the first log in. It's kind of hard to tell which side to take. He's probably doing just what I'm doing, which is look to see if the city is still there and then try to figure out how best to keep me from taking it.
I'm done worrying about it. If it's there when I log in, I'll try to take it. If not, fair enough. Thanks for the input.

Just checked in game, no one is at war. Hmm. It would be awesome if Sisu were to be embroiled in an early conflict.
Also, Oxy still hasn't whittled down the barb city, my chariot still sits and waits. I'll post a full return later today.
As mentioned, the barb city near Oxy is still standing tall with two barb units.
I'm not sure why Oxy hasn't gone in, he's had time to capture the city by now. I would attack but Oxy almost certainly has a second unit that would kill the last unit, so I'm going to avoid making it easier for him. Maybe he'll think I left and will attack withe the single axe (maybe the chariot died?) and that will give me an opportunity. Who knows. There's not much else for me to think about at the moment.
Retep's galley is out of sight, but we're covered here now. Let's do the numbers:
Still not awesome.

Not much to report here that I can recall. I took a couple pictures early in the turn. First, we apparently met Molach to fill out our contacts.
A couple things jumped right out at me, notably that he has both Currency and Iron Working. Uhh...must be nice is all I can say. Early Iron Working appears due to an absence of bronze, which sucks but doesn't appear to have harmed him. We were even on city count when I took this picture. Another civ with an apparently early precious metal hookup.
While I was waiting for Oxy to do his move (yeah, I've kind of consistently been playing after him over the barb city) I looked around at the land south of Sisu. He appears to have company down there, based on the connected resources (mouse over and you can see they're connected). With this and suttree's comment in the tech thread, I'm guessing that suttree is Sisu's southern/western neighbor. I drew in where I think the approximate boundaries are for now, but all I really have to go on is the resources that have been connected, and that I'd want to settle up all of that river if I could. Fight it out like men, men.
