[SPOILERS] Krill smokes some weed - PBEM50

OK, so I just played the last part of turn 44. I've managed to drag this piece of shit empire to #1 in crop yield, and whilst it was #1 in GNP researching AH at 100% slider, there was a deficit of -12gpt and a 1.4 modifier so GNP is merely good, because that's working 2 cottages and 5 coastal tiles on seafood and light house lakes. MFG is abysmal at last place, 14 compared to a best of 26, but then again I have cities at sizes 5/4/4/1, with a second granary due to complete eot T45.

All in all, my opinion of this game hasn't changed. it's still a lost cause, every city I place from here on out extends my borders without making the original 4 cities any easier to defend. The only solution I see to ending this game quickly is to go break something, preferably this empire so I can stop playing the game.

I'll explain the plan briefly. Tech AH to see if I have horses. If I didn't have horses I bitched about the map being a farce and deleted everything and just threw the game. Luckily for the other players I got horses on the only legal tile they could spawn on, adjacent to the second city of 1footinthegrave. That means I run to HBR, and the moment I finish HBR I double slave HA from every city and go throw a stack of HA and chariots at Seven. Will it work? No, because Seven's front city is placed such that I have to show him the stack west of his city at least 1 turn before I can attack. I might get his front city, but that doesn't do anything other than mean he can withdraw his units to his capital and it will take me an additional 3 turns to attack his cap, enough time to get a bunch of units in there, enough to beat a 10HA stack. Aim is HBR by 63 and by T70 to have at least 12 HA and 4 chariots. Not going to happen though.

Here is the empire, with the screenshots taken either on T43 or T44.

Capital carry 2 whip unhappiness. The capital never actually has an unhappy citizen, I always move in a unit to for MP happy the before I end turn (this picture taken after the city has grown the unhappy citizen). Need the spear because I know Serdoa has horse but not sure what Seven has, so I need this spear to sit in the front city with Seven. I can't slave here any more, because I need to let hte unhappiness wear off so I can double slave a bunch of HA. I don't have the worker force necessary to mine every hill, which would allow me to make 16hpt, almost enough for 2 turn HA. I'll have to make do with growing the pop now and dropping the city size over 10 turns.

Finish the granary with 11/18 food and 0 overflow. Swap from hill to second freshwater lake to make 6fpt and grow to size 5, or double slave it and get the unhappiness out of the way prior to starting on HA builds. Turns out that with the horse 3 of the city, I can get 17hpt out of this city, so the granary isn't actually necessary, but I was hedging my bets when I started it and after a while couldn't be bothered to change the build to a barracks, which would be smarter. However, the granary would allow me to give the copper over to the northern city, which has no hills and still get a decent number of HA out. Free religion spread though and I'll just leave the city at size 6 making 19hpt. This is where I'm focussing the majority (2) of my (3) workers.

Look ma, no hills. Junk city, but the holy city culture opened up a freshwater clam, 2 light house lakes tile for city 2 and a crab for city 4, so useful all the same. Needs a granary and will just whip itself into the ground. Problem is I need to double whip an axe out because serdoa has a wandering warrior out that I didn't see despite in being in my vision for 2 turns. Might lose a cottage that the map generator made, nothing special, will overflow out a work boat for city 4 and then have to regrow whilst building that granary. Missing the warrior makes no matter, had to get an axe out from this city because I have literally no other units in this area.

Basically a "fuck you" placement to Seven. Should probably have placed it on the hill but this way I have constant vision into the city so I can judge the effectiveness of an HA strike. Monument is only being built to grab the sheep and ensure I can hold onto that fp in the medium term if I can't raze/capture the city. Saved gold so that I could upgrade the warrior to a spear if necessary.

Thoth is right to my SW. No reason to send any settlers over on boats. Only worth considering in the long term if I can place a city at the entrance of the 1 tile wide peninsula to guard a prospective moai city that is capital adjacent. That axe wandered over to protect the front city with Seven.

From eot T43. GNP is at 50% slider (saved commerce) and finished AH eot T44 at 100%.

yay horse with no pasture resources, such a great tech investment...worker positions are basically bullshit, not done any MM for them. HBR is a 6 turn tech at 100%, horse can be hooked easily by then, and still have to get Archery anyway.

See if this land weren't fucking atrocious for long term survivial/growth I'd be saying right now how straightforward it is to play out a start on this map with slow starting traits provided you have good starting techs, but really this screenshot means fuck all other than that slavery is retardedly OP.

Stupid warrior I didn't see for 2 turns. T45 start axe, warrior is on spice. T46 warrior is on cottage slave axe for 2 pop to 44/23. T47 kill the warrior, finish wb for crab, overflow out granary.

Moving the warrior onto the grass hill forest means I will be able to spot out any potential chariot strike onto Allo Allo in advance. I figure I get the spear from RD into AA and then I can use the saved gold for deficit research rather than a safety warrior upgrade.

Et Voila. There is the giant turd which is the Netherlands in PBEM50.

Good Luck Master Krill! I'm rooting for you,...and hoping for your usual excellent posting so that I can learn some new tricks.

Do you think he stopped posting because he screwed everything up embarrassingly?

I haven't been posting anything because there is nothing new in slaving out a HA stack. Seven is about to get 15 units dump on his front city, almost certainly enough to raze it and hopefully enough to give me control of everything up to his capital. Still not going to be anywhere near enough to get me into this game when Kyan is spamming out undefended settlers everywhere and no one will call him, or Thoth is building every wonder left right and centre.

Honestly, this game has been a total waste of everyone's time since Brick rolled the map, and TBH I'm trying very hard to not say more than that.

Whilst I'm similar to Dick Cheney in that I benefit form the suffering of others, it is to nowhere near the same extent.
